This Chromebook is very nice and has good sound quality if you like watching movies.

I purchased this for my wife. She only really has computing needs for web browsing, watching videos, and occasional excel documents. I used the laptop very little, but I thought it worked fine for looking sites up and playing Plague Inc. Later that day, my wife said she couldn't stand it. It was terribly slow switching between tabs and loading pages. I returned it.

In the past I have been only familiar with Windows systems, so it takes some time to become familiar with the Google Chrome OS. After either logging into your google account or creating a new one, the OS provides tips to help you get up and running. One annoyance was having to set my screen brightness each time I turned on the computer. I also noticed that it only has about 23GB available storage since the installed system and components take up the other 9GB or so. It’s not a deal breaker, but I would have liked if the screen had the ability to be a 360-degree flip-and-fold. Instead, it only folds to flat to 180 degrees. For the positive, the Acer computer itself is very thin and pretty light for having an aluminum case and 15.6-inch screen. Since I have an AC Wi-Fi router, I was able to get a fast internet connection which is a plus when roaming around the house. I also noticed that the Acer didn’t heat up in my lap after using it for an hour or so, which must be due to having the flash memory instead of a SSD hard drive that needs a fan to keep it cool. An additional bonus of using the flash memory is that the boot time is very fast and you can be up and running in seconds. Overall, Acer has created a very capable computer and I would recommend it.

Not the chrome book we were going to buy but it turned out to be a better purchase than expected
