    Thought I'd try a Chromebook, but it wasn't a good experience. Very small print due to small screen size. Touch pad not consistent, about half the time it didn't respond. Then it wasn't able to find or use my Canon printer. Some research showed Chromebooks can only use a small percentage of the printers out there. That was the final straw, so this was returned for a Windows 10, 14", Lenovo IdeaPad that was the same price, included a free one year subscription to Office 365 Personal, and very easily works with my Canon printer.

    can't opt out of office 365 subscription

    I've been going up and down my BestBuy account trying to cancel the office 365 subscription that was bundled with this purchase. I need to do this before it tries to renew so it doesn't charge my credit card account. I'm very annoyed that there isn't a simple way to do it through their website. Too many companies trying to be clever to get your every last penny, hate to see BestBuy doing the same.

    Acer Chromebook

    Sad to say after 15 weeks of use the Chromebook is not working. Spent half a day chatting on line trouble shooting and over 3 hours on the phone trying to get a replacement. We live over 3 hours from a Best Buy store and the Chromebook was delivered to us by mail. We bought 2 at the same time and paid for extra warranty. Now we are stuck with a Chromebook that does not work and a little boy whom is going to fall behind on his online studies. Sad.

    This was delivered just over 24 HOURS AGO.... I got an alert that there was an OS update, please restart to update. So I did and once it came back on got a message that said “Chrome OS is missing or damaged” and now I have to recover it by removing & reinstalling. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is absolutely ridiculous. Zero stars is what this deserves.

    Wonderful Little Chromebook

    This Chromebook was the perfect introduction into the Chrome OS for me. I was hesitant buying it because I'd never owned a Chromebook before, let alone one that can do backflips, but I've loved this thing. Pros: -Fast, this thing is super responsive and quick, coming off a 2014 Dell laptop that was on its last leg, I was in awe of how quickly this Chromebook boots up and works -It's super portable. It's literally books size (funny, because I'm using it to write a book XD) and has been easy to take along everywhere I go -The screen may not be high-end, but since it's a smaller laptop, it wears its average pixels beautifully. The viewing angles are excellent. I can tip it pretty far back and still be able to see everything clearly -I don't regularly use it in tent and tablet mode, but just knowing I CAN makes me feel pretty self-righteous -It's a sturdy boy. I've taken it on plenty of adventures (albeit socially distanced ones) and I haven't felt particularly worried about it -Bluetooth works great and I like to flex that I still have all my ports -The price is unbeatable. To get something this good for $180 (I bought it during the President's Day Sale 2020) makes me very happy Cons: -There's not much finesse to this Chromebook. It's mostly made from plastic, but I was more after function than beauty when I bought it--this can also be a plus, because it's plastic, I feel safer using it out and about -The battery life fluctuates. Sometimes I can pull 10 hours, other times only five (this seems to happen when updates are pending) -I really hate that it has a end of life date when it will stop receiving updates (2024, I think--keep an eye on that when you're shopping for Chromebooks! Sometimes they go on sale because they only have a year or so left.) Overall, I've been VERY pleased with this Chromebook.

    Horrible - stay away

    I bought this Chromebook for everyday things to do on the internet. I didn't need anything fancy - just something to pay my bills and review emails. After a month, it started glitching. I had it fixed. After 3 months, it started glitching again and won't stay on for longer than 2 minutes. It's cheap for a reason people! I have a MacBook that has lasted 10 years - this has taught me a lesson.

    Poor Quality

    Bought this as Christmas present in December of 2019. After about 6 months, lower corner of the screen came apart at the seams. This particular model folds from a laptop all the way into a tablet and that is when the problem occurred. With a little duct tape (replaced about every 2 months), computer runs fine

    Waiting for a proper item

    I have been trying to get a hold of someone for a month. With stores not open fully I have been unsuccessful. The one I bought is malfunctions/defective. It states the operating system wasn’t installed correctly. Can someone please reach out to get this exchanged?

    Thing fell apart in 6 months

    Poor quality hinges, screen separated from back due to poor fastening. Not good for kids school chromebook as they dont treat them super well so you'll do yourself a favor if you spend extra up front for the HP or a nicer one.

    I've owned this chromebook for nine months. I just had to send it back for repair a second time. The first problem was the unit would keep on restarting. The second was the battery wouldn't charge.

    It turns on and off by itself Opens dozens of tabs on its own The arrow dances around the screen independently of me If we weren't in the middle of a pandemic I'd have returned it already.

    The curser skips around while typing and I have to reposition it frequently. Very annoying. I don’t like that I have to login to Google every use.
