Nice looking but defective!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just picked up this chrome book! Wanted an HP but limited options. But Super excited it looks clean, nice, and big! Plus it had a nice price! But once I set it up there was no sound. After messing with it for a half hour it just started working. Next day started it up for my kids to do distant learning and in 5 minutes the speakers stopped working again! Ticked! I had to wait a week and a half for this because of all this virus stuff and now they don't have another for exchange. I have to order another online and wait! I didn't want an Acer in the beginning, proved me right. I'm getting HP!

Sound is not consistent
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.there appear to be some shortage in the sound port for the microphone. Sometime there is no sound and sometimes when there is sound it cuts off or the sound stops. I will be contacting the geeks to see why this is happening.

not friendly user
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not friendly user, I had to ask someone to figure of how to use zoom, having a hard access since I am not good in technology. I don't know of how to download the security stuff that was included when I purchase this computer

Solid, Full-featured Chromebook
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer - Spin 15 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Chromebook is a solid, affordable choice for a Chromebook. The large bright screen is great for all uses, though the 1080 screen can look a bit old when watching standard def videos and the surface picks up finger smears that show up on a black screen. For all else, however, it's a delight. The narrow bezel gives it a great look and feel. Using it in 'tent' mode and as a tablet is enjoyable. The speakers are adequate for viewing media - and especially shine when viewing in laptop mode with the speakers directed up from the sides of the keyboard. The included webcam is also a welcome addition. The 32 gb of storage may seem a bit small, but it includes a slot for using micro SD cards. All-in-all, this is a solid, affordable Chromebook with a great feature-set for it's price range.

It’s good except speaker placement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t like that the speakers next to the keyboard because when you use it in tablet mode or tv move, it defeats the purpose of being able to do that because now the sound is going into my lap or is muffled.

Not good enough
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen tries to hard to display everything on it that it makes everything smaller instead of just letting you scroll around to view more to keep it bigger. The touchpad is awful, it would constantly need me to re-attempt to move things around and would occasionally jump to a different point on the screen than where I'm trying to click. Have more than 3 or 4 tabs open and there's a noticeable reduction in speed and processing performance. Not good for streaming video. I bought 2 Acer computers this holiday season and returned them both. I dealt with an Acer for the last 2 years and hated that one. I won't be getting Acer computes ever again.

Good computer for the money.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have given't it a 5 but it was sold as a new computer and was in reality an open box computer. I tried to contact best buy by chat and by phone but there was always a wait of more than 30 minutes.

Good for basic tasks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my son as a basic school laptop and it has been fine for that task. The screen has an issue with flickering at times, and that seems to be a common issue with this model.

This Chromebook is a beast.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Chromebook is a beast. The 15 inch screen makes the Chromebook feel absolutely massive. The colors are vibrant and rich. The screen is perfect for media consumption. BUT, a 15 inch screen as a convertible is a bit overkill. I have a hard time finding a good position for tablet mode that is comfortable. In a A frame or tent mode, the speakers are facing away from you. This defeats the purpose of the speakers... The speakers have really great sound for a laptop. The speakers are built into the base beside the keyboard facing upward. It is a really good design for a laptop. No so much for a convertible, when converted the speakers face away from you when the keyboard is folded away. This design is why I am docking a star. The keyboard is another if for me. The key press is very light and not much resistance. My son can touch type without issue, but I don't get the feedback I expect from a keyboard. I am use to mechanical keyboards, so that could be part of the problem. The keyboard also feels small compared to the rest of the laptop. It seems they sacrificed a number pad for upward facing speakers. Not deducting anything here, but I would recommend taking a test drive before buying to make sure you like the feel. But that is true with any keyboard you use. As for the touch input, I have no complaints at all. The touch screen is flawless and does a decent job of avoiding fingerprints. The touch pad works as well as can be expected. I have not run into any issues when using it, but I hook a mouse up to every laptop I have ever owned as soon as I open the box. :D As for ports, one USB and one USB type c on each side. Both USB type c will charge the laptop. On the left you have a SSD card slot and headphone jack. Battery has been outstanding. I don't have times, but it will last 8 hour days easily. Overall, this is a really great experience with Chrome OS. It also allows the installation of Linux apps (after allowing in settings) and has Google Play store access which expands the usability of the laptop.

Works well, Windows is always best!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as described, just research before you buy. Doesn't support blackboard(most colleges use this), so we had to exchange it for Windows based model.

Sent it for repair twice.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my kids during quarantine to use for schoolwork, zoom, and games. After one month it stopped charging and was unable to turn it on once the battery had died. I shipped it to Acer to repair. I received it back and within two weeks the same issue resurfaced. I have shipped it back to Acer for the second time and it’s there for repair now. When it works, it’s great. When it doesn’t it’s incredibly inconvenient.

All About the Screen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoying this Chromebook so far. For starters - it's huge! Coming from a smaller Dell Chromebook the amount of screen real estate gained is unbelievable. It's like sitting in front of an HDTV. Love having the touch screen option there when I want it and really, it's just a great looking screen. This plus the excellent keyboard make doing any type of writing a real pleasure. Haven't used the "spin" configurations much yet, but it's nice to know they're there and didn't add on greatly to the cost. Overall build is solid and the number of ports are more than adequate and future proof for what I need. Nit picks? Would be nice to see the bezels get smaller and the overall footprint come down in size. Of course, doing so tends to make the cost go up but one day this may be a reality. Since I don't travel much weight isn't a problem, but sure it would be nice if it got a little lighter as well. Lastly, I'm having an issue where using bluetooth headphones connects to the laptop but no sound is sent to the phones themselves. A quick bit of internet searching informs me that this may be a general problem with Chrome OS. It's not ideal, but at least there's a regular headphone jack and the speakers sound pretty good. Still... if you have similar issues with bluetooth know that you are not alone!
