No knowledge of how to setup my system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I understand Arcams are difficult to calibrate but I was told Geek Squad should be able to to a basic hookup. Derek did say he wasn't familiar with Arcam recievers or Thorens phono pre-amps. He plugged and unplugged the Thorens cables w/o muting the sound. He had no concern for the distorted sound coming out of my speakers and sub. He sent the test signals thru them at such a loud volume that I thought they were gonna be damaged. Saying he had another apt to get to, he literally left in such a hurry that I didn't realize only my center channel speaker was actually working - just very faint sound coming out of the others including the sub. Haven't been able to get any better sound since. Disgustingly poor knowledge and service! NOTE: All other times over the years, Geek Squad services have been excellent.... professional and knowledgeable. But not this time!!

Terrible experience

When we called to ask, we were told it needed to be rescheduled. On the day before the 2d scheduled delivery we were again not contacted & when we called to ask were again told it needed to be rescheduled . Neither time were we even notified that the delivery was canceled. We lost 2 days of work & could not afford to lose a 3d so canceled & made the $1,000.00 purchase somewhere else. Inexcusable- done with Best Buy.

still having problems with the sound

Third part installation was really bad!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A third party installed all of our equipment and set up this sound bar incorrectly and the geek squad had to come out and reprogram it for us. They also had to show us how to use it because the other guy was supposed to but didn’t show us anything! But, at least we got our money back for the installation.

Geek Squad in big hurry!

I have a 3 tier stand, but they put soundbar on the top tier blocking the TV sensor. They failed to connect the rear channel speakers, which I payed for with installation of previous s-bar!!

Best Buy never again

After three attempts they did not complete the task but refused to refund my money. I had to pay for a different company to complete the job. Best Buy has still not refunded my money. I’ll never buy anything from them again.

Tv and install issues

They did not even know they had to bring the bracket. We were lucky they had one in the truck. During the whole process there was a lack of communication between best buy and the third party who instilled our items.

techs wonderful phone service stinks

Oversold

Sony Sound Bar

That's not the stress-free set-up we intended, but we're glad you let us know so we can try to make things right. If you contact (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778, one of our phone reps might be able to get in touch with the Agents that came out and get your remote back to you. Otherwise, you can call 1 (866) 933-5552 to get a replacement remote if you have a Geek Squad Protection Plan. If that doesn't work, Sony, who can be reached at (800) 538-7550, should be able to replace the remote under the manufacturer warranty.

It wasn't the best experience

Contract workers were adequate

Geek was great - BUT ...

Then the problems began - with service! The 2 men who delivered were not GEEK squad. The were 3rd party delivery men who knew only a few basics regarding hooking up elec. equipment. They were pleasant, and they got the very minimum done, and left me with a few booklets provided by Sony. After calling Best Buy several times inquiring about GEEK assistance, and after a rather long wait, I finally saw a true GEEK service tech @ my door. His name was Dave, & he did a terrific job. He not only properly set-up my equipment, but he also explained everything to me. In closing, if you offer GEEK assistance, deliver that assistance! Thank, You, Bob@1412
