    Geek Squad Rip-off

    The Geek Squad was somewhat helpful when setting up my devices; however, when a problem occurred with the antenna for one of the TVs the geek recommended that I purchase a second device to solve the problem. I was charged for the second set-up visit even though it was part of the entire set-up process. The devices worked for 2 and half weeks, then completely stopped working. I called to get assistance and was told that I would have to pay for a 3rd Geek Squad service call to attempt to solve the issue. The Geek Squad service is a total rip-off!

    I have reviewed this before. The technician solved my problem BUT his visit should NOT have been necessary if the first tech (which I paid for) had fixed the problem I identified!!!

    My tv was loosing signal when trying to play a game on my Xbox. I had the HDMI running from the Xbox, through the sound bar, and then to the tv via eARC. When I called geek squad and explained the situation, I was told that a tech needed to be sent out and see what was happening. When the tech called the morning of the visit, he told me he knew exactly what it was when he read the report. When he arrived, he told me to connect the Xbox HDMI to the tv instead of the sound bar and then leave the sound bar connected to the tv through eARC. That fixed the problem. The advice that was given could have easily been told to me over the phone but instead, I paid $85 for the tech to come out just to tell me to plug it in here instead of there. True, the tech fixed the issue but he also told me he knew how to fix it before he came out. That info could have been given over the phone to save a visit and a big fee.

    Worse first time service I’ve ever gotten

    Horrible first time setup first time ever getting a setup wasn’t even offered a discount off my credit card after paying 6000 plus on my discover and more money on my Bose from my after pay account than someone had to come back two days after Christmas to fix a speaker and explain to me how to use them. The first day was like a big rush we had to go Christmas Eve and day without our surround sound went to the store manager was no help I’ll never order an item again from Best Buy that needs setting up again worse service than I get from my cable company

    Streaming service Set Up

    Streaming service set up was effective but not long enough as they only stayed 5 minutes and I ended up with 2 pages of questions. I am a recent widow using my late husband's smart tv purchase and 2 streaming services.

    They did a great job connecting the TV and some newer devices but left 3 older laptops and an Aura picture frame unable to connect through the router.

    Horrible service by Geek Squard!

    I wish I could give zero to the Geek Squard service. The entire experience was just terrible. The appointment was made over 3 weeks before the onsite installation of a home theater projector. No one showed up without any reason, no phone call no nothing! During waiting, I tried to contact customer service a number of times and finally got some response to investigate what happened. I was called a couple of days later, they explained there was a mistake on their end and it needs to reschedule. The service fee is also more than doubled. I had no choice but canceled this service. Zero recommendation to Geek Squad.
