Smooth upgrade from Elements 12
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 12. The 2018 version installed right along side the older version. During install it prompted me to upgrade the current organizer catalog or create a new one. I chose to upgrade which it did without issue and created a copy of the old one. I don't see why I would want to continue to use the older version but it was still fully functional. The interface for both organizer and editor were very familiar as there were no major changes to the user interface. There did not seem to be a lot of major new features on the surface but after digging a little deeper I found some really neat new features in the editor. I really liked the guided edit tab and the way that it gives you live examples of the before and after of each type of correction or enhancement available. In the expert mode I found the auto selection tool to work quite well and had fun experimenting with it. It does a pretty good job of selecting areas with simple to moderate contrast just by dragging a slightly larger shape around the area you want to select. It's like an express magic wand tool. Overall the consistency from previous versions is very good so that there is not really a learning curve if upgrading from an earlier version. And there seems to be enough new features to warrant an upgrade as well. For first time users the quick and guided modes make the program usable in a relatively short amount of time. And in the eLive section there are lots of tips and learning references which greatly help learn how to use. Would highly recommend.

Great For beginners and Pros Alike
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the simplest photo enhancing, slide shows and collages to in depth photo editing even in RAW mode Photoshop 2018 is a great choice. Adobe has always made a great photo editing software and this is no exception. Even if you have an older version, you owe it to yourself to take a look at this version and review the new features for your own uses and see what you think. Its easy to install and navigate thru once you get the hang of it. (Do yourself a favor and make sure to turn off your antivirus and startup programs while doing the installation and turn everything back on afterwards. You must be logged into your Adobe Account and if you dont have one its free to create and you will be prompted to do so to complete the installation) Some of those newer features include: 1.Auto Curate to find the best photos 2.Open closed eyes like magic 3. Replace Background 4.Overlay Effect 5. Double Exposure 6.Watercolor 7.Auto Selection— simply drag over a subject to select it 8.One-click dynamic slideshows of your curated photos and short video clips. More details about these new feature and a version comparison chart can be found on Adobe's Photoshop web page. You will not go wrong with this software as long as your computer meets the requirements listed on the software itself as well as Adobe's website.

Organize and edit photos with ease
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sure we are like most people that are taking more and more photos with our cell phones and cameras. One of the nicest aspects of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 is its ability to help one organize all those photos by people, places and events in a nice visual presentation. Finally, a way to have a collection of one person's photos that one can choose from easily when in need of photos for a project. Also, this software includes what are called Guided Edits that help the user to modify a photo for touchups, photo and camera effects and photo play. One can modify all of the expected aspects of a photo such as color, contrast, red eye, closed eyes and most everything else you would expect; along with some fun, creative features to boot. The software also includes the ability to easily share photos via email and other social media platforms. I find the software to be easy to use, logical and inclusive of most everything I could think of for the average consumer. Adobe has also provided online support that includes tutorial videos that are well done and easily explain how to use the many features and shortcuts in this software. I'd recommend this as a go to photo editor and organizer.

Fun, must have software for advanced photo editing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If this is your first jump into photoshop software, it can be really tricky to learn, many younger people might pick this up really quick and be good in no time, but I myself am new to photoshop so it is a bit challenging to learn the advanced edits, but luckily the software comes with many guides for all different kinds of edits to help you learn how to use it. Photoshop has been the king of the editing tools and this latest edition is so fun to play with. You can quickly pick up easy edits like color correcting, resizing, cropping, etc. Then you can jump into more fun effects like tilt shift, replacing backgrounds, watercolors, blemish repair, etc. The more advanced ones to me are the photomerging. It may take a bit to get used to, but they are the coolest editors in my opinion. This is a must have for any photographer, or really anyone that wants to have fun editing pictures. If you buy the premier edition it also comes with video editing software as well, which this version does not have.

Won't even Install, Now I'm Stuck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second time I've purchased a boxed version of Adobe that absolutely refuses to instal. I purchased it because it was so much cheap than the Mac App Store version (Which Works no Problem!). I will Never again purchase a boxed version of Adobe products. I guess they no longer have competent programmers working for them. Problem is I opened it and it will not Install on my Mac and I'm now stuck with it.

Very Good
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using this for just over a week. So far I really like it. I was using a competitor prior to Elements, which very good, but very difficult to navigate. If you have ever used PS or Elenents before this will be familiar to you. As expected, Elenents 2018 has photo editing, cataloging and video editing. All are straight forward and feature rich as always. I’ve used it to edit several images so far and there are no surprises, smooth, quick and just about everything you need at your fingertips. Installing was easy, but you will need an Adobe account to install and use Elements. It is free and includes Adobe cloud storage. Unless you are a Pro and need all the features of Adobe CC, Elements 2018 is highly recommended, and should be enough for just about any one.

Solid Photoshop Upgrade. Easier for Beginners!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adobe Photoshop has always been too complex for an average to light user like myself to utilize and Elements 2018 is the perfect remedy. I am someone who only takes photographs via my iPhone for personal consumption so I just want a software tool that is simple to learn and use. Elements 2018 has guided mode which allows you to learn and master many of the program's wonderful features and options. I was able to use Elements to restore and bring back to life some older family photos in my house with minimal difficulty. Smart Tags feature allow better sorting and organizing of picture collection according to custom labels. Past Photoshop users will find the interface very familiar, cleaner and easier to navigate. Overall a great value and I am really enjoying it so far!

Cannot install this after paying for it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't fall for the $30 off on software. I could not install this because of error " invalid code" on redemption number. I tried everything for 3 weeks The web information was repetitive and of no help. I just wasted $70.00. I have bought many Adobe products and never had a problem ,like this Who's problem ..Best Buy or Adobe ???

Picture Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adobe Photoshop Elements is the perfect application for creating photographic masterpieces. I have been a user of Photoshop for a long time. I really appreciate the new user interface and the automatic editing options. Great for a quick touch-up of images, but the application is powerful enough to handle all of your editing needs. I use the Mac version, installation is really easy and quick. The application launches quickly and runs smooth. No errors or crashing. It's easy to organize your projects and keep track of your edits. Photoshop Elements is all you need to create amazing photos and publish them to your favorite online medium or print them for the perfect promotion.

Robust, fast photo editing software
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product overall is a keeper and money well spent for both beginners and intermediate software editing. The slideshow features on this program are very, very basic and I took a half star off. If you want a feature-rich slideshow capabilities then this is not for you. Learning to use all the features as a beginner may have a learning curve, but you should pick up quickly. This program is good for beginners and intermediate users and even I think advanced users. The organization system is thorough and offers many options to categorize by place, people, date, you can assign ratings. The software engine is efficient and robustly fast. Auto-Curate is a funway to create an album, it helps you to find what it considers your best pictures. It worked very well but has flaws but overall nice. There is also a tremendous amount of knowledge base available to help you learn or master stuff. In terms of editing, I was happy to see basic and advanced features were easy to adjust. Common adjustments like Hue, brightness, contrast worked just as expected. It took a bit of effort to get right, but the open-eyes feature was fun but not too effective...a work in progress feature for sure. Many of the adjustment features are easy to use and fun. The Guided Edits offer a quick way to learn and master many of these features.

From the Original Photo Editing Software Developer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some may argue, but in my opinion Adobe is the leader in photo editing software. From the early days of the complex, and frankly klunky Photoshop, they have refined the capabilities over the years and evolved a much simpler user interface into Photoshop Elements 2018. Rather than assuming everyone is a Photoshop expert, there are three different levels of working with Photoshop Elements 2018: Quick, Guided, and Expert. Regardless your level of expertise with previous photo editing packages, you can pretty well dive in with Photoshop Elements 2018 and produce photos that look like they were done by a pro.

Great Photo Editing Application with some caveats
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a professional photographer. I have multiple digital cameras and primarily now use my phone for taking pictures. My biggest challenge is keeping track and organizing the photos on my computer to find them later. That's where Photoshop Elements 2018! Photoshop Elements 2018 is great at organizing and finding photos. There are built-in tools for detecting duplicates and the ability to face detect photos is extremely helpful. I've had these features in other programs before, but Photoshop Elements 2018 does it all in one program. The auto-curate option is great. Using machine learning, it tries to identifies your best photos. This is pretty neat to play with, though hopefully it gets better over time. So far, I found a limit of 500 images, and I have thousands captured over the year now. It seems to prefer my oldest photos... which maybe is a polite way of saying my photography skills are getting worse with age! The photo editing side of the application is good too. Again, I really only focus on basic touch-ups, which Photoshop Elements 2018 does really well and in a user friendly environment. On the downside, I had previously upgraded from the previous version. Photoshop Elements 2018 was supposed to be a significant upgrade for organizing photos, but I haven't really found a significant amount of change here... outside of the auto curate option. I'm a little disappointed by that. There are also a few minor bugs that need to be cleaned up, but I'm assuming that a patch will address most of these. Overall, Photoshop Elements 2018 is a good product and I'd recommend it highly if you are looking for a new solution to organize and do some basic editing. If you are upgrading from the previous version, I'd encourage you to try the software out first to see if it is a significant upgrade for you.

Most of Photoshop, without the subscription
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: Photoshop Elements has a lot to recommend it - it has a significant percentage of Photoshop CC's capabilities, without the annual subscription. It adds several "consumer-oriented" features like opening closed eyes in photos, which may turn out to be lifesavers. Introduction: I've been using Photoshop since version 1, when I was introduced to it as a member of my high school newspaper staff. In the subsequent 25+ years, many would-be competitors have come and gone; some of them were worthy, but many were cheap knockoffs. I've used Photoshop for everything from cropping to intricate multi-layer compositing, color correction to creating web page mockups. The good: As versatile and reliable as ever. Takes advantage of the latest hardware (e.g., uses the computer's video card to accelerate tasks when possible), and most transformations and edits happen quickly. Many of the consumer-oriented features are genuinely useful, such as the tools for automatically straightening photos. The bad: A large, deep piece of software, for which many features have a steep learning curve. Some features, such as the tool for opening closed eyes, are very tricky and time-consuming to use (that feature requires that you have a different image with the person's eyes open, which Photoshop uses as a reference). Adobe Elements Organizer works fairly well, but is a separate piece of software from Photoshop - this may confuse users accustomed to photo management apps like Apple Photos - and the transition between Organizer and Photoshop isn't seamless. The ugly: Relies on Adobe Camera Raw for loading raw camera files. ACR is clunky and very limited, especially compared to more full-featured RAW converters like Lightroom.

High Quality Software that's Easy to Use!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, installation of this photo editing software onto my PC was flawless. Then after a couple weeks of use an update to the RAW module was released which I accepted and it installed without any problems as you would expect from Adobe. In my opinion, Photoshop Elements 2018 Photo Editor is designed for everyone from beginner to intermediate level skill at image correction and enhancement. Professionals who own the full Adobe Photoshop program might even consider Photoshop Elements to take advantage of the quick work that can result from using the Elements' Guided features. But for us semi-skilled people...boy is this product fun to use! I played and played and then played some more all the while asking myself why can’t all software be designed this well and actually be this much fun to use? The more I use it, the more impressed I become. Because there are three user levels built into this product: Quick, Guided, and Expert the learning curve on it is actually what you want it to be. You can move through it at your own pace. Don't be afraid to try it all. You can't break it. However, always work with copies of your original images and you'll be fine. On a sour note, I was a little surprised that Adobe released Photoshop Elements 2018 as a full-priced upgrade just one year after Photoshop Elements 15 was released. But, since I love this program, I grabbed the new upgrade anyway expecting to see all sorts of newly added functionality. To be truthful, I had a hard time finding anything new. So I went to the Adobe website and reviewed the Photoshop Elements product comparison webpage where I learned they actually did add eight new features. However, half of those were just some new Guided edits. Personally, I think Adobe overreached issuing Elements 2018 as a new release instead of just pushing out an update to Elements 15 with a few new features as a nice bonus to its loyal customers. Adobe you create stellar software, always have, but, don't stoop to getting greedy. It's unseemly. That said, Photoshop Elements 2018 Photo Editor is superb software without any bugs that I could find. The user interface is its best feature because it makes the product fun to use. I truly can't say that enough. I can highly recommend this product.

Excellent Photoshop for beginners
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Photoshop Elements 2018 is a great tool for anyone new to photo editing that needs/wants guided help or simple to use automatic tools to make editing and organizing all your photos super easy. Elements 2018 features many new tools to help the beginning editor to simply create and edit photos in many amazing ways. For anyone with a lot of pictures floating around on their computer the new organization tools help to quickly and easily organize and tag all of your photos into folders with visual representation of what's inside. This version of Photoshop is intended mostly for people who are new to Photoshop that are looking to do simple photo editing, while it does feature tools that can help to do more advanced edits, it is missing many of the tools in the regular or Creative Cloud versions of Photoshop that are intended for more advanced editing or creations. Photoshop Elements is a great tool for most people looking to do quick and easy edits to their photos or to lots of photos all at one time. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to get into photo editing as it is a great tool and an easy way to learn if you do intend to go into more advanced editing later on.

User-friendly Software
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adobe has done a great job of enhancing this software in order to create, edit, and enhance photos. The software does take some time to down load because of the many features that it has to offer. The ease of usage is user friendly, no matter if one is at the novice or advance stage. I personally used it to tweak some facial features on a few pictures and the process was easily done. I recommend this software to anyone who wants to create their own personal photo shop collection!
