This would be a must buy at $40 but at $60 it would be nice to see it take fuller advantage of the Switch’s capabilities such as touch screen controls. It’s a solid turn-based strategy game and besides updating the visuals and music, not much is changed for better and for worse. With the addition of online play (friends only), there is a rudimentary sort of achievement/trophy system in the ID Tag, though there are only 6 total achievements/trophies. Wait for a sale or get with coupons. If you have NSO, play the originals on the Virtual Console.

Advanced Wars 1 + 2 Re-Bootcamp is a fun and simple strategy game that will keep you playing for hours. The original games were great and this remake adds some nice touches.

Brings back old memories of high school. My only complaint would be the price, but I couldn't stay away so I guess it was worth for me.

This game has a ton of replay value. If you like to test your skills and perfect the levels you’ll be playing for easily three digits hours. Advance Wars and its sequel never feels like it’s going on for too long, the gameplay is that engaging.

Fantastic remake of a classic game. Only held back *slightly* by the severely outdated Switch hardware. Hopefully buying this game will make them consider remaking the rest of the series/continuing it.

Im a newcomer to this series, since I mainly had a PSP in the day. I've had experience with a few AW clones like Field Commander, but never got to play the original. A few hours in, it's incredibly fun and well produced. The HD upgrade is nice, the animations are fluid and the mixture of 2D and 3D art blends really well. The 2D art in particular pops on the OLED, the gameplay is addictive and it seems like there's quite a bit of content to play through.
