If you are an anime lover this is a must have film!

Snatched this blu ray right away went it went on sale!

Do only get this if you're collecting packaging. It's the same content as the previous Blu Ray, but the case is nice and the booklet is cool.

This is not a bad animated movie that I really enjoy! Its a classic!

Ok this is not Best Buy’s fault at all, but this release is TERRIBLE! Funimation totally advertised this movie as coming out with HDR and a digital copy, but the 4k disc has no HDR (they will send you the hdr version if you ask them to) and there is no digital version! It’s a nice looking package but sloppy execution by funimation.

I like it very much (have to like anime), Still put it a second best behind Ghost in the Shell storylines, but good entertainment.

I bought this for my 35 year old boyfriend. He owned the collectible and so when I saw this at BB, I couldn't resist. It made him very happy.

As steelbook DVDs go this one is pretty well constructed and quite nice. However no ultraviolet or digital copies come with it.

Despite being made over 29 years ago, the movie is perhaps one of the best techno science fiction thrillers of all time

If you love anime, you should buy this dvd. Great animation and good story line. I bought this for my son but I really enjoyed it also.

What a great movie and taken to the next level with HD picture and doin sound. The only disappointment is the lack of digital copy.

Akira broke ground with it's advanced storyline and state of art artwork. It is a classic and should not be missed.

Akira the movie is amazing. The rating I gave is for the bluray itself. If you already have the movie on dvd there really isn't any point in buying the bluray. I was hoping that the bluray would be cleaned up or even remastered, but it looks basically like the dvd. The audio is better I think. The movie itself is still worth it though. If you haven't seen it I would definitely recommend watching it.

This review is for the 4K version. I own this in HD so I honestly say that I can’t see a difference between the 4K and HD version. Note my included 4K disc did not have HDR. I had to file a for ok funmation site to revive the 4K version with HDR. Took about about a month or so to receive.

Probably one of the best animes out there. It looks great in the bluray format.
