I got this phone for my daughter to use and it works great for calling and texting. For use for anything else like smart phone features it is not all great since it is only 3g and basically and old phone but with tech being new every six months what do you expect. She loves the phone and the apps she has for her galaxy tab she can have it on her phone to.l

    Useless

For "young" people, this phone is totally useless. Using Spotify on this phone makes all other applications slow and crashes regularly. If you want to post on Instagram, the picture quality of this phone is a joke. If you get the lowest data plan, it takes about 10 minutes for your gmail to populate. It's too slow to keep up with Facebook.... I even bought an extra Micro SD and I barely saw any improvement. Do yourself a favor and invest in something aside from Alcatel. My old LG from 2011 was a better smart phone than this Alcatel! The kicker is: I had to make a 911 call and the dial pad took 1 whole minute to load. Are you serious?? 1 minute could make a huge difference! Parents and young people on a budget -- do yourselves a favor and save a little while longer to invest in a better quality phone for yourself or your child... unless you want to take a risk of having the dial pad stall when you need to make an emergency call.

At first this phone had troubles reading my sd card, but I put a different card in and it has worked fine since. Good phone for the price, sometimes freezes when I use U-tube or the internet. But overall does what I need it to do.

    An ok Smart Phone

This phone will get most of the functions you may be looking for. It gets you on-line, can do it's searches/functions, etc. But it runs horribly slow most of the time and the battery drains quickly. It's a decent phone for a first-phone situation, but don't expect to get a cheap upgrade to anything but "dumb" phones.

    A Price-Smart SmartPhone

This phone will do everything you want it to. I had an iPhone 3G, a Samsung Infuse 4G, and the Samsung Galaxy S4; and while this phone may not have the type of memory space, camera pixels, display, and built-in voice-recognition software those phones have, this phone DOES do everything I was doing with those much more expensive phones. I didn't use many of the bells and whistles. I make calls, text (using voice-to-text), email, check Facebook and Twitter, use Google Hangout and Drive, and Chromecast Netflix and Hulu Plus. This phone does all of those things just as well as those phones. With Android and Google I still enjoy voice-to-text and voice-recognition for weather, navigation, and Google searches. I bought this phone during the Black Friday sale for $24.99. I don't think there's a better buy out there.

I got a few of these for my family member since they wanted a smartphone. The product works great for the price. Got them for about $40 and it basically does all the functions of a smart phone. The screen resolution is not as clear as the newer higher end phones but that is to be expected.

At these prices, this phone is perfect for the kids or anyone that doesn't want to spend a lot. You probably will want to add a memory card though. I bought two and one had a charging problem, but brought it back to the store and they exchanged no problem.
