Excellent Phone for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is an excellent 5.5 inch screen unlocked phone with 1.5 Gb of RAM and 16 Gb of internal memory, about 10 Gb of which is free for your apps. It has 2 SIM cards, and microSD card. I use 32 GB card for all my data, pictures and videos: plenty of space for all apps and data. It is fast, no lagging. Screen is bright and clear. The battery is good for 2-3 days with light use and for 5+ days with very light use. It takes about 2.5 hours to charge it. Camera is not perfect, but works fine in the bright sun. Evening shots are not that great. I got it on Black Friday week just for $50 so to me it is real bargain.

No on-off data toggle switch on my phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I too bought this phone during the Thanksgiving sale. I knew I had to pull the trigger knowing it was going to be sold-out the next day -- which it was. The phone arrived pretty quick but I just opened the box to this phone three and a half days ago because I kept reading the phone turning on and off by itself problems. I HAVE NOT YET activated this phone with a cellular network -- I have only been wi-fi'ing around the web and learning the Marshmallow operating system. I must admit the only experience I have with a smartphone is with a 4" junker with KITKAT 4.4.4. I seriously thought about never opening the box to this phone and selling it because I knew a 5.5" screen phone it just too big for me to lug around everyday and purchase myself a 5" phone, but because of the price during the Thanksgiving sale I couldn't pass it up. As of right now almost four days since opening the box I have had NO "phone turning on-and-off by itself" issues I've read from a few others with this phone except the phone goes into lock-mode after 30-minutes which is the longest time you have in the Marshmallow settings. And I don't know if the phone updated itself to 6.1 when I first turned on the phone (if that's possible) or if the phone already had 6.1 installed because I know I did not update the phone to 6.1 myself. If you buy this phone you will absolutely want to purchase an anti finger/smudge screen cover. I have yet to take the phone outside to see how hard it will be to view the screen in the sunlight but I pretty-much already know the answer to that from the limited reviews I seen on this phone and the phone's brothers and sisters that are under different model names sold by AT&T, Metro pcs, Cricket, etc -- and as bad as the screen smudges up -- along with a bright sun -- it's going to be very difficult to view that screen. The phone buzzes around the internet with wi-fi pretty good but keep in mind I'm not a social media junkie, and the only game I play on the internet is chess and you don't need a strong processor for that -- but I've seen numerous Spanish/Youtube reviews of this phone where people have played Asphalt8. But I seriously doubt this phone with a 1.1 gig processor is gong to snap a good pic running multiple apps and playing Asphalt8 all at the same time. And no, I haven't taken a picture with this phone yet, but having a 5mp camera on my current junker which surprisingly takes decent pic's, I'm pretty familiar with cheap Chinese phone cameras -- it's all about lighting and not running a bunch of apps at the same time while taking a pic so the camera doesn't have to struggle increasing your chances of moving your arm while the camera finally processes the pic increasing your chances of producing a blurry pic. The only complaint I have about this phone, and it's not the phone's fault it's Marshmallow's fault -- my Pop 4+ does NOT have an internet/data on-off toggle switch anywhere -- NOT in the little pull down menu, nor in settings. I'm assuming that I'll get one when I receive the network carrier's bloatware when I do choose a cell-phone carrier. And I do not like that. I do not like having a cell phone carrier's data on/off switch IF I even am given one. I want my own data on-off switch that I trust. This is a big issue for my because I am not gong to get an unlimited phone minutes and data plan. i do not use a cell phone much especially for surfing the web except when I'm waiting for someone so I had in mind to use Tracfone's roll-over minutes/data plan to avoid paying $50 bucks a month for a plan I won't half use. And I absolutely don't trust Tracfone with my data count, so I definitely want my own built-in data on-off toggle switch. If I did recommend this phone to a friend I'd definitely tell him/her there is no data on-off switch in Marshmallow 6.1 with my Pop 4 Plus phone.

Alcatel Pop 4 Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a phone with 8Mp/5Mp camera config, needed to be 4G LTE for my data needs, had to have a 5.5" screen and Snapdragon to process my needs. After comparing phones on Amazon and Best Buy this phone quickly rose to the top of the list as it is about half the retail of other similarly featured phones. In addition, Alcatel has this cool feature they call "Color Catcher" that allows me to customize my home screen in a very unique way. I can't believe this phone was only $149. What a steal! Best part is they also have a 2-year warranty. No other phone brand seemed to have a 2 year warranty. I doubt I will need it but it sure made my decision that much easier! All in all, GREAT PHONE!!

Best Bang For Your Buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this device at Best Buy for my niece... she broke her old phone and asked to going shopping with her gullible Uncle. She wanted an Unlocked phone and this phone was super easy to set up... she put her SIM in and it automatically recognized her card and set the phone to her network (T-Mobile). The reason she wanted this phone was how great it looked (Silver back cover)... looks like a $300 for half the price. Additionally, she is a data hound so having LTE was a must... If you are looking for a great value, this is the phone for you...

Awesome for a low end phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is considered a low end phone made by Alcatel which is a French company but is now a subsidiary of TCL a Chinese company. That said this is pretty much a good phone given it's size and resolution and performs quite well. And if needed it can handle two SIM cards. The feel though is "plasticky" and may turn off others. I just got this phone today and so far it performs as expected except for the volume which is rather low when headphones are used. I went into engineering mode and found not option to increase volume. For this I deducted one star but would still recommend this.

Either one or the other, but not both
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For now, I have one main gripe with this phone, and that gripe is that AT&T won't work with a T-Mobile sim being in the phone at the same time with an AT&T sim. T-Mobile, on the other hand, works perfectly fine with an AT&T sim in the phone. However, I have to take out the T-Mobile sim to get AT&T to work. I may as well have purchased a single sim phone or a GoPhone to use AT&T. There are a few things I like about the phone: FM radio with RDS, the screen (it's not AMOLED, but it's still quite good), and the sound of call quality. I did just get this phone, therefore, I haven't had it long enough to comment on anything else other than the AT&T thing, and the few likes that I've stated above. I just wanted to let the AT&T thing be known as this is a phone, and one of the main reasons why we purchase a smartphone is for making calls and communication.

Good phone but few issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Problem 1: Volume through earphones is very less Problem 2: Phone doesn't recognize 5Ghz wifi signal. Supports only 2.5Ghz. Problem 3: Camera quality is average. Overall: Decent phone for the price range with larger screen.

Restarts on its own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device 2 weeks ago but from the first day itself, it started showing its true colours. The phone restarts on its own at any time, I thought there might be a problem with this device, so I returned the phone and BestBuy reshipped me a new Pop 4 Plus but to my disappointment, the new phone also has the same problem, phone restarts on its own at will. I thought buying an Alcatel phone would be a good decision but the phone has proven me wrong. I am very disappointed with this product. I would not recommend this phone to anyone.

A nice item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unlocked phone (Model: 5056E; SKU: 5604700) from BestBuy last November. It works quite well with H2O Wireless. WiFi is also fast. However, the version of the e-mail client seems not very nice, compared with, e.g., similar LG or Huawei phones.

Tethering restarts the phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a week of using this phone, I had to bring this back to the store. I experience intermittent restarts. Most of them when we are using the phone to share its data. This is almost a bang for a buck, but due to the issue I encountered, I had to replace it with a different unit/brand.

Great unlocked phone for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the 8MP camera and 16gb (9.7gb available to user) on board space it's a decent unlocked phone for the price.

Average Phone at Average Price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone has poor camera for the specifications listed. It is sturdy so that is a positive about it. It reboots many times automatically which is not good about this purchase.
