Great PC for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this pc as my first dive into gaming on a pc and I can say after having it for a couple months, it was a terrific buy. Hardware wise, I can handle anything I throw at it. It is supposedly VR ready, but I haven’t tried that out yet so I can’t say how it performs. I run all the games I play on max/ultra settings and had had zero issues. My one complaint is the excessive fan noise. It does kick up in decibels considerably when performing multiple tasks, as well as just running a game. I have not had any hardware errors either. I did speak with Dell to address if the noise could be lessened. After a stress test and video reviews, they determined the fans were performing as they should be and there was nothing they could do. A quick search online provided user suggested fixes to help control temps and have provided a noticeable difference in noise produced from the fans and it hasn’t affected performance. If you like to work or game with a headset, the noise shouldn’t be an issue. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this computer for your gaming needs.

Solid, Fast, can get a little loud, worth it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I have had it a few days. I upgraded with two SSD drives to add more storage. Overall the thing is very solid. I upgraded everything I needed to the day I got it. Took about an hour if that to do so. I am using this as my gaming machine. I gamed once and fans did come on and were somewhat loud but I have mine located below my desk so it's not a huge deal. I think the Alienware software is pretty solid. Some good features. Overall I am happy, I will update it once we get a few months in or so. I might end up upgrading RAM at some point but 16GB is more than a enough for right now.

Great gaming so far!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoying the RTX 280 Super! Upgraded from an Alienware Aurora R3 I bought 12 years ago - it stills works but wanted RTX 2080 upgrade and for newer games with better graphics. As other people have reviewed it can get a little noisy when playing intense games but not a big deal for me. Only issue so far has been the audio sometimes goes out if I leave my game and then come back a couple hours later and hadn't logged out (at least in WoW) but it's never gone out while playing - just when I afk for too long. Usually just restart the game. Once I click on the audio troubleshooting it starts working again before any of the troubleshooting starts. Overall it's been a good rig for my purposes!

Wow- Gaming fast, Great looking easy set up!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Alienware gaming to upgrade my computer so I can use the new Microsoft flight sim coming out next week. I booted up, and wow it is fast. I had a I 7700 with 16gb that was 3 years old. This Alienware blows it away. I upgraded ram, easy to open with swing door for easy access. Love it. The graphics are crisp. Bought also because 14 USB ports for my flight sim peripherals. Great job Dell.

Horrible Fan Noise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like the other reviews are saying, the fan noise on this thing is insane. Even just downloading a game would get them to fire up like a jet, so I almost returned the PC. Decided to drop another 80 bucks to get the corsair H60 to replace the aircooler. Huge difference and is now quiet. Outside of that, the PC runs great and graphics are phenomenal. Tons of connection options and the lighting options are pretty cool. Sucks I had to upgrade the thing out of the box, but at least I picked it up on sale.

Thanks for your review. Please note that there was also a new BIOS release that should help with your computer's fan noise. You can find out more about the BIOS release for your computer here: https://dell.to/2XAULtU.

Its Good but the fan is kinda loud
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a great gpu, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, with a good enough cpu not to handle it being the Intel Core i7-9700, the storage and ram is pretty moderate how ever. This is my first desktop im a console gamer however i can tell you this PC will last you at least 5 years and if you keep it that long id probably get more RAM bc games now a days are taking more and more RAM usage. Anyways the fan it gets pretty loud not loud loud but loud for a fan. i can run COD MW max graphics at 90-110 FPS but if i turn the three ultra settings to just high i get a solid 140 fps.

Great gaming PC after upgrading cooler...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming PC, great performance but high temps and loud fans... People recommended on different forums to upgrade the CPU cooler to the corsair H60 even after updating BIOS to the latest version. So after upgrading the cooler to the Corsair H60 computer runs a lot cooler about 10-20c cooler (from 80+ to high 50s mid 60s under load) and also runs a lot quieter. This should come from the factory this way. I am aware dells sells the water cooled model but why not Best Buy? Anyways, this is why I'm docking one star. Other than that is a great computer with loud fans!

Very Powerful and Good Price for the Features
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC is very powerful and a good price for the features. I thought about building my own gaming PC, but could not throw everything together for the same price point as this unit. With that being said, the proprietary software to overclock the unit and change the lights proved to be buggy and it took several calls to technical support to troubleshoot (and fix) the issues, which was not the out-of-box experience I was hoping for. Still, the computer runs all the games I throw at it without any issues, so I'm satisfied.

Excellent pre-built gaming rig
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I'm not one for fancy reviews and usually I build my own PC because it's usually cheaper but requires more time and labor. Anyways, it was time to upgrade my rig, but I'm so busy with my career that I didn't want to dedicate the time to build a new PC rig, hunt for parts, etc. So I ordered this configuration of the alienware R9 desktop for a stellar open-box price, so I only ended up paying a 50 dollar premium for a pre-built rig over building a PC with the same specs and parts. This bad boy will run whatever you throw at it. The 2080 super in here is a monster and has no problem running games at ultra settings, more than 60 FPS at 1440p. It's very easy to upgrade too, I've upgraded the RAM to 32GB and it was very easy to open the PC and upgrade it. The one caveat I have with it, is that it is loud! Its not unbearably loud or anything, but it is loud under load. Some forums I've read online say its predominantly the top fan, and it can be swapped out for a quieter fan. I haven't done it yet, but again, it's not a deal breaker by any stretch.

It’s a beast.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely get the 2080 super version , at the price point you might want to go ahead and customize one from dell, was kind of bummed it didn’t come water cooled at the price point, but it is still a beast of a gaming desktop will play the new doom on ultra nightmare, no problems all day, it’ll handle anything you throw at it. And it looks amazing. Lighting is phenomenal.

Great gaming desktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC looks absolutely sick (it's Alienware), and everything within it is pretty much set up. There is one issue that I noticed right away though, the fans are REALLY loud, even when reading and writing disks. They are a bit random too, but this type of minor issue is acceptable. Totally worth the price, one of the best premade-PCs you can buy at this price. Great service from both DELL and BestBuy btw.

Fantastic Computer But Get It On Sale Only
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you were to buy the same components yourself and build the computer you could get the computer cheaper. You're paying for the labor costs, getting a fully built machine and for the name brand that is Alienware. But, Best Buy has put this PC on sale for $300 off so that combined with rewards like My Best Buy points, it's about the same price as the parts and you don't have to spend the time and have the technical know how to build your own machine. A fantastic computer with one of the best graphics cards out there. I highly recommend it if you're not into building your own PC. My husband tried to build his PC to save money but had he just added around another $100 he could have bought his PC built and saved the time and headaches he spent trying to diagnose faulty parts and ultimately returning everything and had to pay restocking fees. Save yourself the hassle and buy one already built!

The System is a Beast-Alien To Behold!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my reserves about buying this machine due to the reviews mentioning how loud it was. To be honest, I have experienced this as well, but It isn't annoying. The only time it happens is the first time you download or the first initial time you run an application. Other than that, I have no complaints. This is my First Alienware machine and it is a total Beast. I play a lot of Intense games and this system handles them very easily without sweating. Oh, and I program music using various programs..and it does just fine. So, don't be scared of the review because they all say it's loud! It's also AMAZING and you will LOVE IT!

Bumpy start but screaming finish
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this home and very carefully removed it from the box only to find out either the motherboard was fried or a wire was loose between the power button and the power supply. Only took an hour and a half with Dell tech support trying to prevent me having a panic attack after spending this much money on something that was a paperweight. I took it back to BestBuy the next day and was able to swap with another Alienware they had at the store. This time everything is working very well. The only down side is the mouse/keyboard that come with it is very basic but I already have a pair that were much better thanks to a recent birthday. Booting from cold is super fast. Just remember when installing your games to change the install path to the HDD instead of the SSD, that'll save some time down the road.

Purty & Powerful
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.machine was loud with fans ramping up & down ...however after bios update she settled down nicely. comand center easily lets you control fans , lighting, etc... this is my third alienware dest top & happy to say all 3 are working great! I have a large family of gamers & these machines run 24/7 . I upgraded ram on all 3 to 32 gb. easily done & additional ssd..tons of upgradability. You pay a few dollars more for the Alienware Logo however I think it is worth it !!

Love the Performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this so that I could do video editing specifically, and have a system that would last a long time. I have some video along with powerpoint slides layered in that was over 50 minutes edited with Camtasia, and this computer handled it with ease. Minimal problems, but . . . 1. I wish you could turn off the exterior lights. I leave the computer on full time and it is way too bright at night. 2. The bluetooth interface is less than intuitive. I'm supposed to be able to text out through my phone. The setup was incomplete and there was nothing I could do to finish it. Odd. I need to call support on both of these items, but from what I can tell there is nothing I can do about the lights.

Perfect but noisy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s great. If you are going to buy this, you should know that is noisy, but you get used to hahaha. Everything else is perfect. I got the open box one, and I’ve never had problems.

Great Gaming PC!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this PC. Very quick to boot up and smooth performance. Needs more storage, but for the quality and price you can’t expect more. A good external ssd will fix that. Tons of ports. My only inconvenience is the fan noise and the amount of heat it puts out. But again, to be expected with the trouble saved and price point. I’m extremely happy with this computer and I hope it lasts for a few years!
