We end it up buying a Ion sports Bluetooth speaker. With many features and great sound it even brought a microphone etc. For a lesser price.

Terrible purchase and false advertisement

Advertised to have 20 hours of battery life. I brought the 250 to the beach on 3 seperate occasions. On all 3 occasions we got blown out the wooder by other small cheap speakers and the battery DIED IN 3 hours. The 250 was the biggest disappointment!!! #RETURNED

Waterproof and ability to add up to 50 speakers, that's something to be excited for. Plus controlling the speak via Siri or Google Assistant is just so helpful! 5 LED light modes is very fun addition too. Last 20 hrs on a single charge - Wow!

Got it home, unboxed, powered it up, synced to BT, started a song, pressed the volume up button and "POP." I thought maybe it was an overload protection, although my volume was still low. Now I'm trying to power it up and nothing. Bummer. Two bad speakers in a row.

don't waste your money

Doest hold a charge for more than 20 mins of playing music not being plugged into the outlet. Speaker panel covers on both front and back have fallen off more than once without any reason to. don't waste your money !

This is the third Altec speaker I have owned and I can not go back to another outdoor speaker. Excellent sound quality, the ability to charge my phone, has a huge battery life and is basically everything (water/drop/sand) proof. I would definitely recommend.

Great speaker for summer

It reminds me of the old boomboxes, but a lot sturdier. It really is waterproof. We were playing with it under the sprinkler. Plus it lights up. It has a great battery life (it lasted for hours) and a charging port so I could charge my cell phone. I just wish my cell phone was as waterproof as this speaker.

Good sound, loud enough for what I needed and the lights were awesome, then the Bluetooth connection started cutting out ever 2 minutes and pausing my music. I can’t tell if it’s something I did or just the speaker malfunctioning.

Not sure why but it's a lot. Enough to ruin my laminate floors if I wasn't lucky to discover the puddle. Maybe this was defective. I'm going to exchange for a new one.
