Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thinking that I could get satellite but where I'm at in the mountains it does not pick up anything with the regular antenna HDTV antenna he'd have to have a satellite dish where I'm at so since I couldn't with Dad up and get anything other than the prompts and scanning on it I ended up trying to get my hard drive for my laptop working with it that didn't work either I need my laptop up to do so I just returned it because I don't think it's ever going to happen with that but the people were very friendly at Best Buy and return my money

Basic but many usable features

Great Reception from antenna

I had the tv hooked to a antenna and got 32 stations. Some pretty questionable. I hooked this up to the same antenna and got over 60 stations with clear reception. I haven't used the recording function yet but this alone was worth it.

The numbers were too small for my mother to use. I tried adding a universal remote, but Aluratek would not give out the code to program a universal remote and said the unit will not work with a universal remote.

Not worth the money
