For some reason my Vizio smart TV doesn't have a tuner, so I had been using a digital converter from years ago, but my dog ate the remote yesterday. Best Buy had one of these left. Set up was easy, power, antenna and HDMI cable, run the scan and done. Works perfect. Make sure you keep your remotes high up away from the dogs.

I am really surprised how well this works. Picture quality is excellent as well as the recording. I use a flash drive. Since you can only record what your watching I split the antenna using a splitter. I connected one coax to the dvr and used a HDMI cable to connect to tv. I connected the other coax to the tv. I can watch what I want while recording on the dvr. Setting up future recordings works great. I just leave the dvr on.

It did not pick up the data from the provider necessary to present the channel identification in the same way the channel listing stated it. Instead it assigned its own channel identification which required manually creating your own channel listing.

Records tv antenna programs on thumb drive. Only Records one channel at a time so you might use 2 in same room. Many brands use same remote with same frequency causing problems. Mediasonic does not.

This is a good recorder for OTA programs. I use it to watch events later and it is good for that. If you live in an area that has weak signals an amplified antenna it required. I use a small 32GB flash drive which works well.

I really bought the Aluratek Digital Converter Box for its Personal Video Recorder (PVR) feature.
In general this box gets the job done quite well, but needs a bit of polishing in its electronics design, because it is not intuitive to use, not to logic in the functions of the remote control vs the general standards, and the instructions manual does not help much in many aspects. On top of that, the company does not reply to questions sent via email.

We were desperate to get football over antenna due to the fight between CBS and Directv. It was a simple issue a few years ago, but now TV is so complicated. We went to Best Buy and they suggested this device. It was a little difficult to figure out and the instructions could have been better, but we did get it working and the picture was great.
Now we feel confident for the next time we need to record via antenna.

The Aluratek Digital TV Converter Box is easy to use and reliable. It provides a consistently clear and easy to view TV picture. I also use it to tape TV programs via USB, and it works great. I would recommend it to anyone.

Overall this product is fine, but the buttons on the remote are too small and sometimes you have to push them more than once for them to work. The directions in the guide need to be more clear. We will continue to use this one for a while, but at some time we will probably try to find a different one with morfe user freindly remotge, etc.

Overall works good, but has a few glitches. Once in a while it will completely stop responding to the remote control for about one minute and then suddenly resets itself by rebooting. It also has trouble working with some brands of flash drives to make a recording, like the ones from Kingston. But other brands work fine. Hopefully the next generation will be better.

Does everything it has promised. Easy set up and delivered more stations than we expected. Nice feature was being able to put a drive card and use as a dvr.

This converter was recommended for me to purchase, so that I could access regular channels on my TV since I no longer have cable and steam only movie channels through my Fire Stick. I was pleased with how easy it was to connect and install with an HDTV antenna. I have full access to local channels again.

I installed the Aluratek ADTB01F and it was easy to install and works ok with my digital antenna. But the unit is cheaply built and not designed well. The bright red indicator LED can’t be dimmed. The Aluratek website has no software update info for it and NO real tech support. The instruction manual is essentially useless even for a tech user. This is a use-until-it- breaks cheap item that I only minimally recommend.

I am blessed.. I pick up 64 channels with outside antenna..& Over 100 channels when I rotate antenna.. The Aluratek digital Box.. is the 2nd recorder box I have tried with the antenna.. It does an excellent job.. only thing that it doesn't do that I would want is retaining the channels I have in one position & capability of adding additional channels when I change direction of antenna.. (My Vizio 70 in TV allows me to find new channels & add to existing channels I already have on my TV)

Had an old converter box that gave up! We still have an older TV that requires a converter box for over-the-air reception. Very nice unit. Their customer support is very helpful and HONEST. The picture compared to the previous is a little darker (low signal output). I have adjusted the TV brightness and it works fine, Have not used the record portion. My only complaint is the instructions are too small to read, BUT you can get them from the website and print out in larger size. These are becoming orphan products because of new TVs, but is a LOT cheaper than buying a new TV

We receive our TV via the air waves. With 30 free channels to choose from, many good programs come on overnight. This DVR performs flawlessly with easy to program menus on to a USB flash drive. Great quality and the ability to name programs, save, erase and play on any TV with a USB input. This unit has a coax, RCA and HDMI outputs. I run a coax input from my antenna and use the HDMI output to my TV. I had it one week and then bought another DVR so both my TVS would have this capability. A great buy!

This is a very handy item to use for recording TV episodes of your favorite shows. However the instructions are not very detailed for using it. We finally figured it out and it work's to expectations.
It's small so doesn't take much room on a TV media stand. I would recommend this product.
