Seems to be working good so far. I use it to record ota shows. I've had 2 or 3 of these convertors in another brand the past few years and they all had the same UI. All worked good just didn't last a long time. Hopefully this one is more durable but either way is still a good inexpensive way to record if you have a usb storage device.

One down fall of this item is you can not change it from military time to 24 hour time and maybe it’s my remote but it does not work well at distance.

I spent nearly two weeks going around in circles with at Tablo 4th Gen vs. my legacy TV. Their tech support was worthless. So I returned it to BestBuy and bought this Aluratek. Worked just fine right out of the box. No problems at all. I absolutely LOVE the fact that recordings are on my USB drive (sold separately), and they're in a standard MTS format that I can import into other software (e.g., Premiere Pro). Audio and video are sometimes slightly out of synch by a second or two, but Premiere Pro easily fixes that. And unlike the Tablo 4th Gen, this unit actually has an HDMI output so I can see it on my legacy TV. I never once got the Tablo to play back anything that was watchable. Horrible experience with Tablo. Great experience with Aluratek, and much cheaper!

This is a very good digital converter and does it well. The only problem is a complicated use remote control.

Seems to work best turning off & rebooting each day.

I'm really content with this purchase, lost the old magnavox box that was given out in 2009ish for my old flat screen from 2004 and didn't want to replace an old analog tv since it still works. This box works on the tv/video mode with no problems. Also it records live tv for you too, not a bad price if you're looking to keep old tv consoles that are only analog.

This converter box has stopped working twice since my initial purchase in April of 2021. I tried changing outlets, rebooting, (nothing) So I emailed aluratek for a replacement in July, that was received in August and now Jan 2022 it has quit working again. Although this box is easy to use and set up it is very unreliable poorly made. I would not recommend it.

This was the easiest setup I have ever experienced with electronic devices. Everything was easy to understand and functional when completed. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

There are quite handy for those of us who still have analog TVs that work well otherwise. Mine do not have any DVD or VCR player attached so I cannot speak to how that part of the remote works.

This unit works great. Instructions are a little wonky, but everything is very intuitive without needing the instructions.

This item has enhanced my entertainment endeavor. Quick hookup, no complication.

Worked as-advertised for exactly 3 months and promptly died and no longer turns on. Oh and the user interface was horrible (think back to the year 1997.) Too late to return, waste of $40. It's a wonder Best Buy is still in business to even sell this junk in the first place.

I love the product! It picks up more over-the-air channels than other converter boxes that I've used in the past.

These boxes serve one purpose that the manufacturers and the store employees miss or just don't realize the value of. I walked into a Best Buy and wanted a way to record OTA TV and they just said you can't do it or buy a TiVo. But these TV Converter Boxes work! You CAN RECORD over the air TV with them. I have done using OTHER converter boxes they basically work the same way. In fact the interface for the software is the same on many boxes. I have been recording TV on a USB thumb drive with a converter box. But for HDTV I would recommend a USB hard drive...they are dirt cheap too. Now you can get an Amazon Recast that will do it too. But those are 229 to 279 buck and this is under $50. When you see a TV Converter Box with a USB port it means you most likely can record OTA TV...just like a VCR

Ordering from Best Buy was very easy and it was delivered as promised. Within 2 days. Great product and easy to set up on our television.

Got this product after after we switched from Comcast. It is delayed during bad weather but is to be expected. But overall 4/5 stars.

Purchased so I could record shows from OTA that come on when I am at work or asleep. It takes a usb 2.0 flash drive or external hard drive. I purchased a 3.0 usb 2 tb hard drive. It is backward compatible to 2.0 usb. I had a 4tb external drive that would register but not work. I assume the reason is because it was too large and self powered. The new one I purchased receives its power from the PVR usb connection. So if you want to be sure you can record...get a drive that is either a 2.0 usb or backward compatible to 2.0. Also, be sure it does not have to have its own power source. You can program it to record 1 time, daily or weekly. You can also set it to just change to the channel for viewing. Once the video is recorded you can edit the title to what you want. Pull the drive and transfer the video to another storage device to watch later. While hooked to my TV via the hdmi (not included) it has it's own volume control. It really increases the level of sound from my sound bar. Its incredible. This has been the best $125.00 combined that I have spent.

For channels I could get on my tv its great but I can't program the stations

Works well, as advertised. As with any tv requiring an over the air antenna, you may have to move the antenna throughout the room, to fine tune the station, depending on what channel you are watching. This is no fault of the converter box. Thank you!

First off it says dual tuner but I can only watch the station I am recording. If I change the channel it will record the channel I am watching. Also it use to record 5 programs when I was not at home. But for some reason it stopped. The only way to get it to do that again is to delete my list of programs to record and set them back up.
