Quick connection to my Apple Airpods (5.0 Bluetooth). Very good range. Using the Optical Out from Spectrum TV Cable Box to the Aluratek 5.0 Bluetooth Dual TV Transmitter Optical Input, getting no latency when watching TV, with strong volume!

First, full disclosure about why I acquired the Aluratek model ABC53F Bluetooth audio receiver and transmitter. I already owned a Bluetooth transmitter, the TaoTronics TT-BA01. I need the transmitter for one purpose: to broadcast audio from my home theater receiver to my Bluetooth headphones when I want to watch a video without disturbing anyone in the house. The TaoTronics is a very basic transmitter that does the job, but had one major drawback: there was no easy way to connect with my paired headphones. The TaoTronics seemed to want to pair with every other Bluetooth device in the room first, so I had to shut down Bluetooth on my laptop and cell phone before it would connect with my headphones. Also, I had to go through a series of button-pushes before the devices would connect with each other. I hoped that the Aluratek, as a more advanced device, would be easier to pair and connect with my headphones. The picture of the Aluratek showed that this device was much larger than the TaoTronics and it looked like it would be easier to visually follow the process of connecting. I have included a picture that shows the Aluratek and TaoTronics devices side by side.
Well, so much for hope. Just like with the TaoTronics device, you must use the Aluratek power button both for powering on the unit and for pairing. The length of time and number of button pushes are crucial in both cases for performing the correct function. With my headphones set to pairing mode (I had forgotten how to do that and had to look it up—it also involves the proper number of button pushes for the correct duration of time), the directions told me to first press and hold the Aluratek power button for three seconds. Next, I was to press the power button briefly twice. This was supposed to make the LED flash blue and make the transmitter automatically connect to my headphones, after which the LED should turn solid blue.
Trying to follow this procedure, I heard no sound coming from my headphones but thought I heard something coming from the next room. Yep, my home theater was transmitting through the Aluratek to a Bluetooth-enabled alarm clock in my bedroom. Whoops, wrong device. I think I failed to put my headphones into pairing mode because I had did not hold in its power button for the required seven seconds to pair with a new device. (With different Bluetooth devices asking me for different numbers and durations of button pushes, how am I supposed to remember everything?) I tried again, and this time I was successful. Still, I considered this experiment a failure, because the pairing procedure was not any easier than with my current Bluetooth transmitter, and I had not avoided interference with other Bluetooth devices.
Now, I must say that the Aluratek, in addition to working fine as a transmitter, also has some great features. It is capable of pairing simultaneously with two devices if you should want to. (My TaoTronics does not do that, although a more recent model does.) But I doubt that I’ll ever pair with two devices. One is hard enough. The Aluratek also can act as a receiver as well as a transmitter. This would allow me to, for example, stream music from my laptop or phone to my home theater receiver, which does not have Bluetooth. I might conceivably do this at some point. Also, the Aluratek comes with an amazing number of different cable connections: 3.5 mm, RCA-Y, and SPDIF optical. And all cables are included! That is a rarity in these times. The device also has a hefty antenna and works with Bluetooth 5, which allows for considerable transmission distances. (My TaoTronics model, in contrast, is only Bluetooth 2.1, although later models have more advanced Bluetooth.) So, if these cool extra features are important to you, I heartily recommend the Aluratek transmitter/receiver.
For me, though, in the end I will probably stay with my much smaller footprint TaoTronics and pray that someday the people who design Bluetooth devices will realize that it is terribly inconvenient to have to use the power button for both powering on/off and pairing, and that it is difficult to remember how many times to push the button for how many seconds to do the right thing. Is it too much to ask to have a separate button for pairing? And wouldn’t it be great if a device as large as the Aluratek showed available Bluetooth devices on a screen so that you could select the device with which you want to pair?

I was searching for a cheap way to connect my audio devices to headphones or my old stereo system. I found this product and decided to give it a try, what a pleasant surprise! I love this product and the capabilities it has. It is made very well, durable and the battery charge lasts for a very long time!
Pros:
Very Portable
Battery Lasts Long
Ability to Transmit or Receive signal
Bluetooth range is great with no degradation
Comes with 3.5mm Cable / RCA-Y Cable / Digital Optical cable
Quick charging
Ease of Use / LED Status indicator
Cons:
USB Charging Cable does not come with USB wall Plug
Does not include dual RCA audio cable
Portability::
The portability and capabilities this has are endless to the imagination. With the ability to not only transmit as well as receive signal you can be flexible with any device you wish to broadcast audio. I have tested both the transmit ability and receive ability with the device. It is as easy as flipping a switch on the back to alternate between the abilities.
Setup::
The setup and paring was very easy and the sound quality is great. I have not had any problems with missed treble or bass queues. The LED Status indicator easily makes it understandable if you are needing to pair / power or low charge.
Charging::
The charging was very quick however I cheated and used a USB Wall plug that I use for my Samsung phone. I am sure if going through a USB connector it will charge slower so I would recommend if you have a USB Wall plug to use that as it will charge tremendously faster. It provides an LED light indicator of charging and when off meaning fully charged.
Connections::
I am impressed that it included multiple ways for it to connect however wished they included the RCA Audio cable and not just an RCA-Y Cable. Although it is easy to pick up a cheap RCA audio cable to will not hold it against them. The connections are easy to reach, snug and made well to endure multiple plug/unplugging.
Overall I would strongly recommend this product for anyone who has legacy systems and want to stream audio through them. I am continuing to find creative ways to use this little box and so glad I decided to get this !!

I’ve had Bluetooth in the car since 2012, but I’ve taken on a car *without* Bluetooth in it and it’s driving me crazy.
I’ve been using the 3.5mm AUX jack to handle music and enough is enough - time to find a Bluetooth solution.
Enter: Aluratek and the ABC35F.
They include every cable that can interface with this unit, which includes the optical cable, and I found that fantastic and also, unheard of. Kudos to Aluratek for providing what we need and saving us from having to take another drive to Best Buy to get more cables.
This unit has a very small footprint and is powered by 5V USB. An added bonus is that it has an internal battery. When using the device, a quick flip of the switch turns it from transmitting to a receiver for your phone, pushing sound out the out the 3.5mm jack on the unit, right to the AUX jack in the car.
When the radio is on AUX and there is no music, acceleration creates a whine noise through the speakers, however when a connected device starts playing music, the whine goes away and the tunes sound pretty good.
The disappointing part, is that you cannot also use it to handle your calls in the car. Nothing says you can, but I found this very strange, as I could “hey Google,” ask a question & get a response without issue.
If you try to make a call when they are paired, it just works like a normal call; hitting the “B” Bluetooth button on the phone goes into scanning mode for devices that can handle calls, which this device can’t do.
When I retire this car and get Bluetooth capabilities again, this device will move right into the bedroom to be a transmitter to my Bluetooth headphones!
Do I recommend this? Well, even with the caveat that it can't handle phone calls, it's still a "Yes."

I bought this along with a digital to analog converter since I only had coaxial digital out on my projector. I used this with a Bluetooth sound bar across the room but was getting almost a 1 second delay. If I use this for audio only it does its job extremely well since you can hook up two headphones at once. Maybe it would have been better if my projector had optical out on it where it didn't need the conversion. But the cost was good and it works really as expected and I have more things around my house that it can be used for.

I have an older amplifier which has great sound and I use it for speakers in my yard. I now blue-tooth connect the amp to my phone or pad during a party and use Pandora to allow anyone to adjust volume or song selection while entertaining even at the very back of the yard about 75 feet from the receiver. It is the perfect solution as my older amp has great sound and now it has modern connectivity.

I bought this to add Bluetooth capability to a Portable Audio (PA) system used for parties. The range is excellent and without drops.
Device can work both ways as a transmitter or receiver, just by toggling a switch si you can use this as well to output TV audio to a pair of headphones as example. Has all the audio connection options you may need such as optical, RCA & 3.5 mm audio jack with cables included.
Device is power via USB cable, only constrain is that wall plug is not included, so you need to plan to buy one. Connecting Bluetooth is not as intuitive as other devices, but just follow the included instructions step by step paying attention to the switch position of transmitter or receiver.

I am in IT and consider myself fairly tech savvy, but I did have some trouble pairing for the first time. The unit defaults to APTX-HD mode, so if your devices don't support it, you will need to disable this first. (This is what got me.) I have only used this unit in transmit mode connected to an older LCD TV, but am able to quickly pair with Beats Solo 3 wireless headphones. Another note, these two devices don't subsequently automatically pair. I need to enter pairing mode on both devices each time I connect them. I am very familiar with the process now, so this hasn't been a huge issue, not enough to knock it down a star. Range is great, sound is good... all around solid purchase.

After picking up a pair of Sony wireless headphones after Thanksgiving, I realized I needed to add the Aluratek Universal Bluetooth Transmitter to my existing TV.
When I saw the Aluratek go on sale, I jumped on it, to test it out, knowing that if it wasn't up to snuff, I could easily return it.
So far, it has worked very well, and easy to move between my living room TV and bedroom TV, for late night listening without disturbing my parner.

The sound quality and range of this transmitter are excellent. Nice solid case and easy installation. I have it attached to a TV and a bluetooth speaker which I placed close to viewing area. This made a big difference in following the dialogue while watching movies where the sound levels flucuate. I highly recommend this product.

I am using this to feed music from a computer in the basement to my stereo that is on the first floor and a distance from the source. The Bluetooth 5 makes a difference in usable distance. Most distance ratings are based on clear line of sight with no obstructions. I am getting a clean signal close to stated limits even though there is a cement wall, i-beams and different floors to contend with. That makes me happy.

After purchasing a 4K projector I was in need of upgrading my sound situation. The projector is set up in a fairly small room and any sound system larger than a sound bar was going to be major over kill. I ended up purchasing a Samsung sound bar that has the option for additional rear speakers to be added to create a 5.1 surround sound system. Now here came the issue. I did not want to run either a HDMI nor a fiber optic cable across the room. I ran across this product and decided to give it a shot since it would help keep the entire set up much cleaner.
It did take awhile to get it to connect via Bluetooth to the sound bar but what finally worked was turning on the “APTX-HD for Bluetooth 5 setup.” Once I did this the sound bar found and connected to the Aluratek. I have since turned off and on both devices and connected my phone to the speakers and everything works great without the need to reconnect manually. When I disconnect my phone the sound bar and Aluratek reconnect automatically.
I have watched a few movies and tv shows with this setup and it is performing as I hoped. Initially as the audio and video are “syncing” there is a little latency but after about 5-15 seconds it goes away. Now when I say it goes away I mean that I cannot notice any latency and other friends and family cannot either.
I have it constantly plugged in so I do not know how the back up battery life is.

Have used the inexpensive bluetooth transmitter/receivers in the past and was nothing but frustrated with the time I spent trying to get different headphones to connect. This one is much easier, and remembers the headphones from last time. Range is amazing, and I have even used the receiver mode to send music from my phone to an older powered speaker with ease.

The delay is acceptable to watch movies. It is much better than previous transmitters I use. Turning on is awkward because of where I placed the transmitter my thumb covers the light which indicates on off and syncing. Sometimes it turns my speaker on and sometimes I have to manually turn on the speaker. The first transmitter I bought was defective and I had to return it for the one I have now which is working. Often it will not sync so I have to reset my TV sound settings and then re-select PCM. Don't know if this is a TV problem or transmitter. Phone tech support was helpful with my first transmitter. I will ask them about resetting the sound on my TV.

We often have multiple activities going on at the same time and needed a way to listen to TV without cords and not interrupt studying, music lessons, phone conversations, etc. This was a great solution, works with all our Bluetooth earbuds/headphones. Easy to set upend comes with all 3 types of connection wiring.
