What drives me crazy about this dryer is... 1) There is no fabric softener dispenser. I know this is a base model, but I feel like that is something normal that should be included. 2) It drains the water if you leave the lid open once you start it after 20 minutes or so. It just seems like such a waste of water to me. I go to find stuff that I can add and occasionally I do get distracted. At the very least add a reminder buzzer to shut the lid. People buy this model to save money and wasting water and detergent doesn't help anyone. 3) It is very noisy. 4) You can't keep the lid open to see the agitator working. I have a feeling it doesn't do much for all that noise going on. Otherwise, mine has been working for the past ten months. I wouldn't purchase this again. I will buy a used one if I need to save money. I'm not sure why a washing machine needs to be computerized at all and I love technology btw. I would also not give this machine to any friends that needed one. I think they would probably feel like I was giving them junk and feel ripped off even if it was free.

It is a great product for the price. It is not the largest and does not have the most features but I could buy 4 of these to every other unit that had a little more room and a few more bells and whistles. It is exactly what I needed.

We have had this washing machine for 2 weeks now. I do at least one load a day in it. The first thing that threw us off was that it had water in it when we went to put it in. We figured it was from the company testing it out. The first time we used it, it was REALLY loud. The wash cycle was louder than my TV 3 rooms away. It has quieted down a bit, esp. when you load it all the way to the top. When you add the fabric softener to the center tower, it smells so strong throughout the entire house it gags you! My final complaint is that everything gets stuck at the bottom of it under the center part. I load the towels; jeans, and hoodies on the bottom and they have all gotten so wound up and stuck, I had to take a pair of scissors to a towel to get it out. It does a great job washing everything though.

A piece of junk. Washing machine broke down completely in 5 weeks. I do one load a week. The Amana drier takes 2 full drying runs for a fairly light load. Im 58 and never had such poor quality appliances.

I bought this with the matching dryer and the dryer has already broken. This washer works fine - I do limited laundry - but usually I find something I missed after I start the cycle. sometimes the lid lock releases, sometimes it doesn't. It does not have any cycle to soak and where I live my white clothing is orange from the iron so I use a presoak but cannot with this washer. Since the dryer timer broke I figure this washer won't last long either. We'll see. I also paid full price since I was replacing a broken washing machine and this was the cheapest on the floor. But was not on sale.

I bought this with the complementary dryer online, on sale. It is a great value.

Had this machine for less than a year and already having it serviced for major repairs. Takes FOREVER to fill the machine with water. It practically trickles out. Depending on the the temperature you could wait 15 minutes from the time you start the load until the time it actually begins to wash. Yes the water pressure/set up are perfectly fine so it's the machine. Generally noisier than any other machines I've seen also. Back to customer service. I added geek squad to this product but unfortunately my one year warranty has yet to expire so I had to deal with Amana directly. I called the 800 number on a weekday afternoon and was on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes before somebody took my call. Once I was on the phone they told me it will be another week and a half before a technician will be out. Are you kidding me? If you're looking for a decent quality machine for a good price LOOK elsewhere.

We bought the 3.4 Cu. Ft. of this washer. It lasted one year and 4 months just enough to not be under warranty any longer. We are a small family and at the most do three loads a week. The lid lock is horrible, it takes for ever to fill even with great water pressure, and the washer will not drain properly so we have to run it through the spin cycle again, then there is still water in the bottom of the tub. Right now it is completely down as the tub completely fell off and is sitting in the bottom of the washer full of water. It only had a small load in it when the tub fell off. Don't waste your money on this and spend the extra few hundred dollars to get something else!! I will be looking for a different brand when I purchase a replacement for this.

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER. IT IS INSANE. IT TAKES LIKE AN HOUR TO FILL UP AND THEN, FOR NO REASON AT ALL, THE WATER STARTS DRAINING AND IT SPINS. IT MAKES SO MUCH NOISE, WE HAD TO PUT A QUILT OVER IT TO TRY AND SILENCE IT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GETTING THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

The washer has done well with the wash except I wish we had selected one that had the fabric softener dispenser on it already. Other problem is that the washer is currently broken (as of this week) it keeps refilling itself. The sensor is not working and we have to call for repairs. This is what prompted me to give this review because when I went on the site to get the repair number, it asked me to review it.

purchased similar model two years ago . was informed today it will cost me over three hundred dollars to repair a 400.00 machine. Then customer service at Amana had the nerve to offer me an extended warranty for just three hundred dollars. they must be kidding

Do not buy it. The wash cycle selector wouldn't change the cycles and the water level sensor went out on the first load of laundry I tried to wash. It flooded my laundry room on the same day it was delivered. Definately getting something differednt.

I bought this machine and only have two people in the family. Its NOT HEAVY USE. It has had issues since about a year, with spinning and draining cycles. The manual to "troubleshoot" is a complete joke...(water in machine= wont drain) nothing to show HOW TO FIX IT, just call a dealer. I am tired of spending money on dealers and would prefer Amana make a product that works. My last machine (a Maytag) worked for over 17 years without problem. Thats VALUE. This need to pay a repair person more than I paid for the machine over a two year period is rediculous.

Had this washer for less than three months and it has been broken the majority of the time. Complete waste of money.

Of course, my washer is just out of warranty. HOWEVER, for about 18 months, it has been acting really crazy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It has computer operation, and it seems to get "stuck" at certain places, then will hot finish, NO MATTER WHAT. Sticks mostly at the beginning under "fill sensor". DON'T GET THIS WASHER!! I regularly have to take my wet clothes out(it gets stuck before it starts washing)and carry heavy wet clothes to the launrdromat.

Washer's HORRIBLE NOISE "WILL" DRIVE YOU INSANE!!!
