FireStick with a screen

If you still watch TV on a cable box don’t by this one. If you have a cable remote or universal remote don’t buy an Amazon TV. Every other TV will come back to the same video source you were watching when you turned it off. This one comes up to Amazon “who’s watching menu” when powered on. Takes 3-4 clicks on the remote to select the HDMI input for the device you want to watch. Speaking of the remote - it’s awful. Same tiny, slippery, easy to drop, easy to lose remote that comes with a FireStick. Because Amazon uses obscure manufacturers for their TVs, and because they refuse to tell you what model it is, no way to program another remote to control TV power or volume. Even the sleep timer takes so many menu selections to set compared to my other remote that had a dedicated button for it. If you are only going to watch streaming services and don’t mind the horrible remote, the picture & sound are OK for a budget TV.

Not happy - headphones don't work w/ 3rd party app

However, I use non-Bluetooth wireless headphones (Sennheiser) via the optical out to watch TV when my wife is asleep. I get audio on Prime Video and the Amazon TV app, but nothing on any other app. I hear the clicks as I navigate the apps, which tells me there's a signal still going out. But no audio otherwise. I've tried un-plugging. I've tried reloading the apps and clearing caches. Updates are on Auto. The Fire TV OS is clearly buggy. Until they fix it, non-Bluetooth headphone users should consider other brands.

Fuzzy picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Alexa and I wanted this to be the most fantastic TV ever but unfortunately I returned it on the same day, out of the box it worked really well however the picture quality was extremely poor. It’s a very soft picture almost fuzzy however all the voice commands worked flawlessly I guess I’m just gonna have to wait for the next version I could live with a soft picture next to my 10 year old Sony it really looked bad. I hope they can put this into a better TV
