We have had two first generation Echos for one year now. Tonight I switched them out for the generation two versions. The sound quality is GREATLY improved and immediately very noticeable. WOW!!! I am no expert in sound, I know I like BOSE when I hear it, but the generation one version didn’t bother me... I went for the new versions just knowing it was better. I hoped I would be able to tell the difference. I totally can... I am thrilled with the upgrade!

I haven't noticed any significant differences in the sound quality of music, but I feel like Alexa's response time is faster with the second generation. Still not the greatest music speaker I've ever had (as it still lacks in bass) but it's not bad. What you do hear is fairly clear and crisp. The exterior finishes are really convenient now that you can choose different looks to fit a theme or design. Overall, I feel I feel like I got what I paid for!

It is true, I do. Echo has great sound and the mics are good enough to hear me from the other side of the (fairly large) room. The gray color blends right into any mid-century or industrial style apt. I was not sure why I needed a "smart home", now I can't live without it.

I love this thing. I want to buy it for all grads this year, and as birthday presents and I want to put one everywhere. The bathroom, the kitchen, even the closet if I didn't worry about my credit score. Sound is great, bass booms and fills my small master bed room. We do have it placed in a corner of the room and the microphone has issues picking up soft voices. It's sleek and compliments my furniture. We use it as our alarm daily and to play music. Amazon has a wonderful lullaby station that puts our toddler to bed. Thank you Amazon! Thank you technology. This is definitely the Best Buy *wink* for A.I.

This is a good portable speaker and simple to use. The voice commands are great and it has a lot of uses.

Great sound; Love the smaller size; Alexa works well; Just wish the selection of music was a little broader through Amazon Prime. You really need to subscribe to Amazon Music for maximum enjoyment.

It is a nice looking product. My friend has the first one and I was amused by it. I thought with it being on sale I would try this out and see how operates with other smart home products. To be continued. I also purchased the Dot. I will review separately. This echo is a simple yet elegant look. It is very easy to setup. Using it takes a little bit of practice. It is fun to watch people talk to it. Great people watching when we are entertaining.

Voice recognition works great as long as you speak clearly. We love the integration with Amazon especially when we are buying things or adding them to the cart. The only complaint I have is with the skills development. they work great but they could use a little upgrading.

I got this on sale and wanted to try it. Great in the kitchen where you can play music, listen to books, podcasts, radio stations without having to put your hands on anything. (Cooking hands are often "dirty" hands!) I haven't tried anything more complicated then that yet.

Had a pair of Echo Dots as a test before going with the Echo. The speaker is worth the upgrade if you listen to music often. Fills up a room without any distortion. There is still a learning curve as to what it can and can’t do but that’s more of an Alexa issue than Echo.

Better, Smaller design. Sounds better and recognizes voices better. Good for a 2nd generation upgrade.

I bought this for my house while they were on sale in December. I debated on paying extra for this over the dot but I'm glad I did. The sound that comes out of this is great and on par with some other bluetooth speakers we purchased (one from bose and one from JBL). At first I wasn't sure what all I would do with it but I do occasionally ask it questions which, for the most part, Alexa answers with no issues. I also bought a Nest thermostat and some smart plugs. Now I am in love with just being able to tell Alexa to turn things on and off! I look forward to, someday, having a fully smart home!

I bought as a gift for my husband and the echo is fun for the entire family. We have a split level house so we connected it in the kitchen. Alex can hear us from the family room and the main level. We love that we can connect on amazon accounts and our fire stick.

I am still learning, but am really enjoying music on demand and off-the-wall questions answered. I also got a couple dots to put in my kitchen and bedroom. I grouped them, but still have not figured out how to get them both to play at the same time. Working on it!

I was looking for a speaker for my Echo Dot to enhance the sound quality for music. The salesperson recommended this product and since i wanted another Echo device, I purchased this one. I use it in an open layout and the sound is great. Love it and recommend it!

Alexa has changed my life! Have purchased for friends and family. My grandkids love the interaction..can request songs etc. I love it that my kids can put items on my shopping list at home and I can check the list in my phone when leaving work. Fantastic product!

Have come to rely on her for day to day tasks. Loving that I don’t have to hunt down my phone to complete a task, like adjusting the temperature, create a list and so on. This product was the missing peace in tying everything together making life a little easier.

So easy to set up and the sound is great for it's size - so many uses! My 86 y.o. dad wanted one (!!) after checking out our Echo and he is enjoying listening to music, checking on the weather and sports scores. I have a little more peace of mind knowing that he can 'drop in' on me in case of an emergency, and I can do the same. We are finding more and more things Alexa can do as well. Why did I wait so long to get these??

After a few days I did not know how I lived without the Echo. I love the shopping list. We all use that. I like the small size as I have the original taller Echo
