I can live without these speakers, but why? They have made a lot of everyday actions more convenient. It's like having free hired help. It's definitely a hit with my child! It's easy to set up for use. Additionally, "skills" can be enabled via voice. The sound is pretty good for this unassuming cylinder. Needless to say, there are multiple Echo products in my house. Lastly, the Echos can be used as an intercom to talk through other Echoes in the house via "Drop In". By the way, you can "Drop In" on other people in other places that you know if they have the feature enabled.

When Amazon announced this Echo they touted it as having much better speakers than the original Echo. To me, there is very little difference between the two and you can only tell if you had them side by side. Overall though, definitely worth the money.

Music, news, conversation, assistance, and all in a nicely wrapped addition to your home. Fun and useful for everyone and all ages. Great gift for older folks, children and teens. Listen to books read aloud. Nothing not to like, something for everyone.

We have the dots in the house. We decided we wanted to get Some thing for my beauty room. With the sound that comes out of this thing, we couldn't be happier. I can get ready in the morning, and the husband can hear the tunes too! Great gift purchase.

I purchased an Echo Second Generation electronic assistant from Best Buy in Green Bay. It is easy to setup and use but you need to have Pandora or other music accounts to link to the Echo. Amazon Prime has the default linkage for music. Great product.

I was looking to add another "Alexa". The Echo, generation 2 units were on sale for $79.00. This is an improvement over the Echo Dot for stand alone sound quality. The microphone pick-up is also better than the Dot. I would recommend the gen 2 Echo's.

I am an echo geek, i have the Show, 5 Dots, Echo Auto, one original Echo and this one. This one has great sound for the size, so much so that i put it in a prominent spot (Kitchen/Dinning room). I use the e his for a lot, and this one does all the stuff I need it too. I’m regards to the sound, it is plenty loud as a stand alone or as part of a speaker group; you don’t need an external speaker for this one. No issues at all here. Easy to use, easy to set up, looks good, sounds good.

I'm in the process of smarting out my house. I had an echo dot in the family room, but wanted to move that to the bedroom, and replace it with a regular echo. I saw this discounted on Black Friday, so I picked one up. No complaints so far. The sound quality is much better (obviously) than the dot. We've had friends over, and it provides pretty nice sound quality that fills the family room in our apartment.

The 2nd gen Echo is smaller in height than the original but has the same woofer with a smaller tweeter. I have had the new one for a couple weeks now and from my observation the sound quality is much better. Nice cleaner look and previous version.

The Amazon Echo was a Christmas gift to me, and to each of my adult children. Easy to set up and started using Alexa right away. She can tell you a story or a joke, tell you fun facts, and just about any info you need. Set up other devices in your home and Alexa will help you with your life. Have a Nest thermostat? Alexa, set the thermostat. Set routines, have her search for a program on TV. The Echo is a game changer for how you think about and perform tasks. Place and track orders. (There are ways to prevent your kids from placing orders from Amazon.)

Didn't know if I really wanted this or not. Now I am in love with it! I will be getting the new light bulbs soon and will even be able to turn the lights on and off with Alexa! Music, shopping lists, and answers questions...who needs a husband?

The 1st gen was nice but this awesome. The sound quality is great and i think the 2nd gen can hear you even better than the first. around corners and in other rooms the amazon echo picks up the words we are saying and operates more efficiently.

I loved the 1st generation. I’ve been waiting on black friday prices to pick up a few more. With synced music and the astounding list of compatible home automation, my life is much easier and fullfilling letting Alexa do things for me. Love it!

No issues at all. Added this to my smart home environment. After initial setup the Echo downloaded software to better the sound and it's great. Musician and sound engineer, I'm impressed with this product for the price I paid. NO COMPLAINTS.

I originally only wanted a bluetooth speaker for the house but I was convinced to get an Echo instead and now I not only play music but ask for the time, set alarms, check the weather, etc. I kind of want to hook everything up to Alexa now.

Bought one to see if it was worth using. We enjoy the quick responses to our questions and it is easy to get ,music. Still experimenting but find it very useful. Don't know if we will attach things like lights and locks but it can be done..

The Echo and Dot are a blast! I learn new things everyday. Anything you can imagine to ask her, she knows. The Echo’s speaker has great acoustics and paired with the Amazon music service, you have millions of songs at your command. Love it!

Amazon-Echo (2nd Gen) - Smart Speaker is a nice handy bluetooth speaker. Although its diameter hence the size of speaker is slightly big, it was not very tall as the Original Echo that I had. I also have an Amazon Tap. The sound quality of Echo (2nd Gen) is very good. I wish all Echo come with built in rechargeable batteries like the Tap! I bought 10 of these devices to give as a gift to our office staff as the sale price under $90 was good and also each came with a TP-Link Smart Plug!

Amazon has really improved this product compared to the first version. Sound quality is better and is much more compact and beautiful now.
