I have the old version from last year. Got this for my in laws and I want to get the new model for myself next

She’s easy to setup through the Amazon app. The different kinds of commands Alexa will respond to the way you intend, takes a little time to figure out but overall sound is great and Alexa will do what you want.

If you sign into your music streaming services it will automatically choose from them to play what you ask it to. Can be separate groups for separate rooms or areas of your home if you have several or they can all play the same thing simultaneously through the whole house. Awesome!

Much better speaker quality than my dot. Also seems like the microphones are better at picking up my voice.

The speakers are high quality. They can be heard through the whole house without being too loud if you are in the same room. The Alexa functionality works great for asking questions about the weather before going to bed, and can play lots of different kinds of music by genre or song title. The only downside is that it sometimes thinks you said Alexa, when clearly no one did and it talks a little bit, which is only somewhat annoying and very infrequent, about once every 2 months.
