Have a couple echo devices already and this guy complements them nicely. Looks great. Sounds great.

The 2nd generation Alexa looks and sounds great. Amazon did an amazing job of reinventing the Echo!

This echo is the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. Sound quality is far superior to the echo bot but not quite as good as the larger more expensive version. Speaker does distort at higher sound levels but overall a great product for a living or family room

If you are are going to get into this, then don't get the Dot, just go ahead and move up to the ECHO. The sound on the Echo is WAY better and the money is well worth it. The Echo is a great product. Use the dot for smaller spaces, use the ECHO for a normal sized room. It is awesome!!!

this is the second alexa we purchased. we liked the new selection of colors. its a great speaker !

This speaker is a great buy and the volume goes up very loud. Alexa responds quickly. The one problem I have is that we don’t have many uses for it but the occasional times we do use it it’s great quality. Great to play Christmas music

This lets me play whatever kind of music I want by using my voice to tell it. I play the local radio station, I play Amazon music Christmas channels, I play Pandora stations. I also have changed many switches and outlets in my house into smart switches, and have gotten a Nest thermostat. I can use this to control all of them with my voice. It is convenient to adjust the thermostat from bed, and to make sure the porch light is on.

Love the Amazon Echo and love the ability to sync them all together so it's whole house music now.

Bought this after setting up to echo dots. Has been great for playing music and asking information

Only had the 2nd gen Echo for about two weeks and am really liking the unit. The sound is great. Still getting used to Alexa but haven't had any issues with the Echo so far. Great product by Amazon!

This was our entry point into IoT/smart home devices. So far we're enjoying it. Not perfect, but it's still early in the game for voice-activated devices. Setup was relatively straight-forward. Not a huge fan of the Alexa app, but that's a separate review, I suppose. For the uninitiated, you'll find out that you'll spend quite a bit of time in the app even though this is a voice user-interface device. For example, we have about 35 skills enabled after just over 7 weeks of playing with the devices. It's getting a bit difficult to remember the commands for launching different skills. Ultimately, you'll likely need to refer to the skills list for reminders. I'm surprised how much we use lists, reminders and alarms. If your reminder descriptions are difficult for Alexa to sort out, you'll also find yourself going into the app to edit the reminder. Alexa skills that run the gamut - some good (math skills practice, surf report checker, and interactive storytelling skills), some excellent (link to smart devices, streaming content like TED Talks/The Daily/NPR) and all lot not worth even mentioning. One thing we've had a tricky time getting set up is to get Alexa control of our Fire TV. It's been a couple months and a couple failed attempts. There's plenty of documentation online about how to do this, but we just haven't had any luck. I suspect this is mostly user error, but it would be great if 'it just worked' since they are both Amazon products.... honestly this is a relatively minor niggle. Of course, the whole privacy issue lingers in the back of my mind but there's not a lot you can do at this point unless you want to wait on the sidelines for the market to mature. Fingers crossed Amazon and the other smart device companies to do their part.

Only issue some programing drops off for no reason? May not be the Echo but the content provider

This is a great product for home automation and overall convenience. Speakers are solid as well!

This 2nd generation is pretty good. I had the 1st one and this one is for my mom. She loves it.

The speakers sound good not really made for loud music, Alexa responds very good, and the sound fills the room pretty good, voice command makes it really easy to control the speaker, I like it.

Great speaker for its size, music sounds great. Alexa has a lot of learning to do and so do I. Questiokns have to be very literal and simple. And she doesn't understand slang or dialect at all.
