Ever so handy! When I first brought it home I was thinking, what am I going to do with this? Oh my gosh! I don’t burn stuff on the stove anymore because I use it as a timer. I don’t forget things because as soon as I think of them, I put them on my to do list or grocery list by just saying it as soon as I think it! I don’t pull up the phone to check the weather, I just ask. If I’m unsure how to spell a word, I just ask. I use it as my alarm clock. I wake up to whatever song I like or whatever alarm I like. If I feel like listening to music I just tell my echo what I want to hear and at what volume. It’s a great little machine. It makes all the things I have to do during the day, easier.

I had the first generation Echo and thought that was great, but the 2nd generation is even better! My favorite part is the stylish gray this product now has available! Clear sound and good range.

This was an item that I purchased for my mom. My father is a long haul truck driver and I purchased this so that when he calls her and informs her of his next destination, she can ask 'Echo' of the weather in that area he is driving to and anything that he should be aware of. Also, they are constantly building stuff around the house. I taught her that she can ask 'Echo' for exact measurements on their project. Taking the guess work out of figuring out how much something will cost. On a personal note, my parents live 6 hours away from me. My mother is a cancer survivor. I purchased 'Echo' in the event she has an emergency and needs to get help. She can literally tell it to call 911 and I know help will be on the way.

I have 3 of these and have given 2 away as gifts. I love the skills that amazon keeps adding and how much more useful this product gets each week. It also integrates well to control my smart home devices

The voice recognition is very impressive. Connecting it to devices works but with some devices isn't as simple as I think it should be.

It recognizes its name over all the the loudest noises, and puts out a surprising amount of bass for the size of it. Note that you will need to update Fire TV Stick if you want to have the echo control it.
