The initial setup was difficult - then, all of a sudden, it started working. I traveled and brought this with me. Again, the setup was difficult - more so than the first time. The 'Help' section in the app is not very helpful. I followed the instructions to the letter - over and over again. Then, all of a sudden, it started working. I would still recommend this. One problem (besides setup) is the fact that some artists are not available unless you pay an extra $3.99/month. I can listen to those artists on other devices.

I thought I’d really only use it for music and just to talk to it for fun, but I actually have her connected to my entire room. My Xbox, smart TV, and I also got wall plugs for my fans and bulbs for the ceiling fan light. It’s super neat, especially when you start to create custom commands for her. Great sound to it too!

The app kept not connecting on both an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. Finally got it to work on the 6 after several hardware resets of the Echo. Recognizes southern accents, a plus. Great speaker for the cost. Works as advertised with compatible products.

Amazing product with skills that keep growing. We use this for music and also our dish and it works great for both things. Very happy!

The echo is a great addition to a home. Great for remembering what I need to get at the store, and great for ordering Christmas gifts.

Love Alexa for what all you can load her with.Skills always have something new to add. And daily check of the weather is very helpful.

Overall product good quality. If I would critique the negative, it would be the highs in the sound. When you turn volume up the highs get drowned out by the bass. Otherwise Alexa responds well to voice commands even with a lot of background noise.

The Echo is great! So many skills and great for the kids! They love playing with “Alexa” and the interactive Scooby Doo story teller.

Easy to connect to the internet, very user friendly. Always there ready to answer your questions. Music sounds great on this system.

I got the Echo for a great price and it had a special deal which included a smart plug very cheap. Everything works great together.

Works well with my Harmony remote hub to turn on/off the TV and Dish Hopper and change the channels when we can't find the remote.

Overall, happy with the new echo. I can’t tell much difference between the original one and this one, but I really like using Alexa and this has been a nice addition. Speaker is good for the type of product. Not much different from last model.

I’ve been hesitant to get an echo but my doctor who likes to talk about gadgets after our visit convinced me for the price of an echo dot for 39.00 it’s worth getting for all the assistance you’ll get. I found the speaker in the echo dot not loud enough so when the echo 2nd generation went on sale a few days after getting the Dot I decided to at least check it out. The sound from music and radio shows is just amazing. It sounds so clear and loud it’s almost like having a Bose speaker. I kept the Echo Dot and put it in the bedroom so I have access to it as well. I only paid 20.00 for the Dot at Best Buy redeeming rewards and a gift card. There is so much the echo does and I have it setup so in the morning I say good morning and I get the weather and news from various sources and then it plays my favorite music channel, Pandora. You can ask Alexa anything and you’ll be surprised with the information you’ll get. She’ll even tell a joke or a story if you’re looking for something to get you thru the day. She can even sing a song or rap. It’s like having your own personal assistant. I guess that’s what the device is after all. Highly recommend one.

My wife is a dot owners and wend I get it for her she was happy. She used and say it is alot better then the last generation one.
