The Second generation is a great upgrade. It is smaller, has better sound, and is more attractive on a counter top or entertainment center. Getting it set up and working was a breeze.

I bought one for myself a year ago and this purchase is for my daughter and her husband for Christmas. It’s great to just ask Alexa to play music and ask questions and set the timer or alarm without having to push buttons or anything. There’s more I can do as well but I haven’t gotten that involved in it yet.

I LOVE my echo I just love the ease of talking to her while my hands are full and her playing my favorite songs the only complaint I have it I am Mexican and have her set up to Spanish but when I do want to listen to a English song she has a hard time understanding me I takes a few tries sometimes to get her to play my song but honestly I use her everyday especially to set reminders and timers..... oooo plus I dropped her in the toilet once tmi so I literally washed her in the sink and she still worked I'm not saying she is waterproof maybe I was just lucky not to much water got in

This was a gift for my mom, who has macular degeneration and can't see to change the radio station and has trouble using her phone sometimes. The Echo was surprisingly easy to set up, and now she has holiday music for the first time. It is easier for her to use than Siri on the phone for wake-up calls, and she can hear about the weather while she's still in bed, or before she goes on her walk. Just really easy to use for her. She loves the tell a joke feature, and we are going to borrow ebooks from the library for Alexa to read... another thing Mom's had to do without. In fact, I've been so impressed I'm thinking about getting one.

I was trying to find a way to sync music between good speakers all over the house. This fairly inexpensive device (I bought 2) has filled my house more cheaply and almost with as good sound as any of the more expensive options. Plus we have Alexa full strength in 3 rooms for operating devices, etc.

Definitely worth the buy...and then some! Since getting this we couldn't get enough of it. It has been great calling out, while we are cleaning or cooking and being able to change songs, cutting off lights...It is really just awesome setting your schedules and alarms. It is really a great product.

The Amazon Echo is great. I like that it works with smart home features and hasn’t disappointed. I would like to use Spotify and other features without having to subscribe to the Spotify premium. I have Amazon Prime and it’s allowed but certain songs are only if you subscribe to Amazon Unlimited Music Subsciption. Other than that It works great. I still would of bought it due to the fact that I can connect a smart plug and ask Alexa to turn on lamps and my Christmas tree etc.....

Alexa is amazing and controls so many devices in my house. It’s amazing how well she understands my commands even when there is a lot of background noise.

I have a couple of Google Home Minis and bought this so I could try out Alexa. I am SO glad I did. Sure Google does a few things better, but I am finding that Alexa is much easier to use, understands my unskilled way of asking it questions, and seems more flexible with what I want to do with it (with skills enabled). I was able to get a few custom skills integrated and now I have a very powerful home automation and monitoring system. I plan to keep both systems for now, as they both have their benefits. If I had to choose one over the other, though -- I would chose this speaker and Alexa without hesitation.

The new echo has some amazing sound quality. We are new to using the Echo and have found that we learn more uses for it as time goes by. Since getting the Echo we have added FireTV stick, smart outlets and Hue light bulbs. We will be ordering switch plates and switches for our 6 ceiling fans.

We are so happy to have purchased the Amazon Echo! The minute we walk into our house, we can have Alexa play any music of our choice...instantly. We no longer have to fiddle with buttons or remotes to sign in to the music we wanted to hear, and if we ask Alexa a question, there is an immediate answer. The size of the unit takes up a very small amount of space, and the color we selected goes well with everything. The surround sound is exceptionally outstanding, and the Echo can hear our voice requests from many feet away. This is a wonderful product, at a very reasonable price, which provides customer satisfaction surpassing our expectations.

I got the Echo for my wife. She really enjoys barking orders at it. It even works with the echo dots we already had around the house. Very fun product that can really help you around the house with everyday events. Seems like Amazon keeps adding things this thing can do everyday. Enjoy!!!

I purchased the 1st Echo that is the tall one and after a while it stopped responding so I returned it to Amazon and purchased this New version at Best Buy. I have to say I am very very impressed. The speakers are much louder and its nicer looking. I would recommend this version to anyone.

The Echo @ is awesome! It is extremely easy to set up. The instructions to hook your wireless devices up are great. It was up and running in minutes, and can also provide some fun if you desire that. For example, ask Alexa to tell you a pun, and she will! I highly recommend this device!

I finally went ahead and purchased the Amazon Echo and I am very pleased with it. It makes controlling my Philips Hue and Wemo switches so much easier. The application integration with the Alex voice commands are pretty cool and I am looking forward to adding more Smart Home integrations.

I got 2 Echos & 2 Dots last year and have been using & enjoying them almost daily. The Echo has very good quality sound and plenty of volume for me. (If you want to listen to loud music this may not be best for you.) I have had a few issues with WiFi connectivity, but I believe that is because of my WiFi signal strength and not a problem with the Echo devices. I really enjoy multi-room music. I turn it on in my bathroom when I get ready, and I turn it off in the living room as I leave.

We love Alexa - my toddler son especially loves to play his favorite songs - so fun watching him learn how to get her to recognize his cute little voice. Also makes me wonder how far we've come from my childhood, playing with my grandma's rotary phone... Alexa tells us the weather, when football/baseball games are on and what network, plays our music, alarms/reminders, timers for us while we cook, home automation devices. Truth be told the Alexa app can leave a bit to be desired but as far as the device itself - Alexa contributes more usefulness to our family some days than some of us humans.

lots of hype on the product but we have not found lots of use for it yet. Yes it works great, just maybe not using it yet to its full potential. As we get more devices connected to it, as well as the house, then it should help. It has waaaay better voice recognition than Sirii

Happy they added some design options to the new Amazon Echo devices. The microphones work much better with surrounding noises than the original Echo we were using in the same room before. Don't notice too much of a sound difference in the speaker from the original to the 2nd gen.

I was hesitant to get one of these "assistants" mainly because of privacy concerns (always listening) and partly because I did not think I would use it much. I am just easing in to using some of the features, but already I really like it for setting alarms, reminders, telling jokes(!), fact checking (still sparse), weather updates, and listening to music (with an equalizer and pretty good volume). I also really like that I can tell whether or not it has heard me, because I can see the light bands flash while sitting across the room. Plan on trying some of it's snazzier skills soon.
