I returned it and bought Amazon Echo and it does everything I want and more without the extra cost. Alexa is more responsive and provides more detail than the HomePod Mini. Ask Alexa a question she gives all the detail one would expect. The HomePod Mini you had to upgrade to get the details. I would and do suggest to family and friends to get it over the HomePod Mini.

It’s incredibly convenient for playing music, setting reminders, and getting weather updates just by using my voice. The sound quality is great, and it easily fills the room

The one thing I miss from the original is the volume was able to be adjusted with turning the top of the device. This one has buttons and is on the fabric. We use this in the kitchen and I am worried it will get dirty and grime with no way to clean the fabric especially if we keep it as long as the last one. Sound however is comparable and is equally if not more responsive than the original.

It replaced a high profile brand name device which quit working and was four to five times as expensive. It sounds amazing and I'm happy with my purchase.

"Smart" Ain't What It Used To Be

It works as advertised and the sound is incredible. It sits about 5 feet behind me in my library and I feel surrounded by music at any volume level. Beyond every expectation. The amazing thing is that Alexa is constantly learning new skills almost every week. "Smart" is smarter than ever.

HATE F@$%ING amazon and there commercials every 2 songs. I will not listen to a commercial, i tell her to stop and request a new channel, have not had a chance to switch to something else yet but i will. I will NEVER buy another thing from amazon again, F#$K them.

Posted .Hello DonaldZ! I am so glad that you are enjoying your Echo! The service that you are using for free for your music by default is Amazon Music which if you are not a subscriber for, does include ads. This is just a part of the service to allow for free music. You can switch this at any time to your music service of choice (many of which do also include their own ads if you are not a paying subscriber, this is not exclusive to Amazon products). Music services like Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc are just a few of the options. You can do this by going to your Alexa Smartphone app on your smartphone and navigating to More (the 3 lined icon in the bottom)>Music & More>Settings(gear icon in the top right) and then selecting your default service for Artist and Genre Stations, Music, and Podcasts. This should open up your options to possibly find a music service more to your liking.
