Got this to up grade a dot and the skund is much fuller

Not much of an improvement from last gen. Voice control can be frustrating as this model does not seem to hear as well so repeating yourself makes talking to a hunk of plastic that much more odd when your now irritated and forced to raise your voice. Not worth upgrading for.

Alexa doesn't quite understand my commands or questions. She doesn't respond in a timely matter. This generations of Alexa is frustrating. Last Generation of Alexa is awesome....at least she listens well.

I love except for the restrictions in music selections.

Replaced older echo and this one sound a lot better

Needs better mid range other than that I really like it.

It’s was more annoying then I could handle. So not worth it. Returned for a simpler different Alexa. Prob good for turning on and off lights when you are not home but not much else. Wasn’t easy to navigate and no instructions.

I gave this as a gift to my sister and she has been unable to get Alexa to perform. She has an Apple tablet. She must be doing something wrong. I have Alexa in my place and she is a lot of fun even though some people claim she may bbe spying on me.

Got this to replace our 1st Gen Echo based on the claim of better sound and an input jack. However, the sound is only marginally better and we missed the volume control dial on the 1st Gen. Returned a few days later and kept the 1st Gen.

She’s better than the older versions, but there’s an underlining of suckiness with all Amazon devices.

The words are not clear like it's coming from inside a tube. Not good for listening to audible or spoken content.

We have several echo dots for a couple years and like them. I got this new echo for the smart hub to control some light bulbs we had and to be honest we don't like it as it's not nearly as responsive as the dots are. Not sure if it's a defective unit as we haven't tried exchanging it, but Alexa is not nearly as responsive. We ask Alexa to do something and a lot of the time it takes us multiple requests to get it to understand us and do what we want. We have literally been less then 10 feet away as it's talking trying to tell it to stop and it ignores us completely while we are yelling at it. One time I just went over and unplugged it.
