This replaced a first gen alexa that we had for almost ten years. The one thing I miss from the original is the volume was able to be adjusted with turning the top of the device. This one has buttons and is on the fabric. We use this in the kitchen and I am worried it will get dirty and grime with no way to clean the fabric especially if we keep it as long as the last one. Sound however is comparable and is equally if not more responsive than the original.

Works well with my smart plugs and smart bulbs. Easy to use and sounds great.sounds much better that my original dot.

Awesome new design. Works and sounds better than previous versions. And looks cooler too!! Now with different color schemes.

Great sound from this revised Amazon Echo speaker. The bass and crispness of sound is nice

Bought one for my wife for Christmas and the whole family loves it. Very easy setup and the sound quality is amazing for the size and price.

The quality and sound are awesome. For it to be small it gives large sound effects. I highly recommend this Echo.

Love it! Where was she all my life. I love being able to speak to Alexa while I'm cooking and she knows what I like to listen too. Great for gatherings, when you are cleaning or cooking and even helps you fall asleep when you ask Alexa to play ocean sounds or meditation music.

I'm placing an Amazon Echo product in every room, and this is my hub. It works as advertised and the sound is incredible. It sits about 5 feet behind me in my library and I feel surrounded by music at any volume level. Beyond every expectation. The amazing thing is that Alexa is constantly learning new skills almost every week. "Smart" is smarter than ever.

I already have one, but decided to add a 'second' echo to get the stereo effect and boy it does it sound good with two of these. Simply fantastic. One thing to keep in mind, the stereo will only work when you stream the audio. You cannot get the dual stereo effect when you play audio / bluetooth from your phone.

Great system, really fits with the decor in my house. And the price was great!

Sounds good, but a little to quiet for my bedroom if I want to blast music, will be good for a bathroom

The 4th gen Echo was purchased to provide music from radio stations and other sources. The 4th gen Echo Enhanced Sound upgraded the pleasure of music. You can tell Alexa to play classic, pop, Christmas and other types of music or to play a certain radio station. You can have our arms full and tell Alexa to report the weather. A big plus is the away feature. It acts like a security system. Alexa listens for any alarm for a smoke or CO detector or any sounds like breaking glass. She will notify me if something happens. Another plus is if you have multiple Echo dots you can play music throughout the house and also announce things like dinner or if you have company that has come. Negative – the power cord is white instead of charcoal matching the Echo and many times does not respond to a voice.

My 1st Alexa love the sound quality, good bass still need to learn how to sync it with my Vivint home smart system but very happy so far

The song quality is very good to excellent when you consider the size. I am very happy with this product. I have an Echo show and 4 other echo products throughout the house. This one sounds as good if not better than the ECHO SHOW. Very happy with this purchase

Good but if you want to have a service you have to pay to Amazon for everything

We have many of the Amazon devices around the house from the very first generation Echo to the latest edition as well as echo show. You either like or hate this new design, while I personally kind of like it. While certainly not an audiophile speaker it does offer pleasing sound with decent base. The one new feature that I really like is that it can tell the temperature in the room that it is placed. Just ask Alexa “what is the temperature in the sunroom” and it tells you the temperature.

Enjoy the fact that it has a built in bridge which means one less device i need to purchase..

This is my first Echo device and so far I love it, I purchased both 4th gen Echo and Dot. Sound quality is great and easily adjustable in the Alexa app. I have had no issues with voice recognition at all, she is responsive and understands my requests the first time. The First World problem of the power cord not matching the device doesn't bother me. As a Sci-Fi geek I love that I was able to change the wake word to "Computer", however, I'm hopeful that "Mother" will be added to the list of wake words eventually...

Very good sound for the size, much better than any dot series. Discontinued model. Get them while you can.
