My HomePod picks up my voice in the room over from my echo however echo rarely hears me unless tv volume is completely muted.

It looks good and was easy to set up. However, the reviews that mention the difficulty it has "hearing" are correct. I sit about two feet from it and I have to repeat the wake work several times. And this is with no ambient sound in the room. I have to turn off or pause my TV when I need to speak to the Echo. A bit disappointing for a newer model. I feel like I should have stayed with the older model.
