The only downside is the broadcasting announcements without being asked, as well as, randomly beeping if there is a notification.

I just keep upgrading to the newest version. I love all my echo devices. This newest one was a breeze to set up it has great sound and has some pretty awesome features.

Good start for home automation

I'm already controlling three lamps with it and soon will buy some exterior lights and security cameras. I've noticed that a lot of devices made for other controllers by other companies are 100% compatible with the Echo.

Pretty good if you had the Old Dot
