Works as stated, but you will spend more $$$ to use the home automation functions, most skills have to be linked to other apps to function, depends upon how much you want amazon or google to know,if you know what I mean. For the cost, not bad and im happy with it.

I wish I had more smart home items to make it more useful but I love the drop in feature for communicating with my son when he's in the basement on the Xbox.

Alexa is phenomenal! What separates Echo Dot 2 from Google Home is the Bluetooth capability. With Amazon Music Prime and wireless headphones and speakers, the sky is the limit.

At this price, we've added these to several rooms in our house. The added convenience is really nice. The home automation and management increases are well-worth the low cost.

Wasn't sure about getting the Echo dot as this was a gift for someone else. Now I have both the Dot and Alexa. Very useful and haven't even explored the many options available.

We gave this as a Christmas gift to our daughters family and they are having a great time with it. The grandkids love asking it questions. We're thinking of buying one for us!!

I live the Alexa, the speaker could be better quality but there is so much capabilities, even after years of owning one I still do not know everything but can do! It’s always updating and adding new features which I love!

I bought this for my niece as a Christmas present and she plans on purchasing some of the additional things so she can enjoy more features. I also have one in my home.

It is so much fun to play with. It connected easily to my Smart Thermostat and Smart Plug. Now I just tell Alexa to turn them on or off. Going to get some more Smart Plugs.

A friend has one and she liked it so much and talked about wanting one for her bedroom. So got her as a gift and she was so happy, and enjoying it.

I have several Alexa devices... this particular one sits on the headboard of my bed and serves as my alarm clock, a thermometer/weather station, and best of all, it can play a variety of ambient sounds to help a person fall asleep.

We've had a blast with this little box. The only problem is that I'm now second fiddle to Alexa. This entry level device is well worth the entrance fee even without it on sale.

We are learning new skills with Alexa all the time. She's great for listening to music, telling jokes or answering questions. Would definitely recommend this product!

It is a limited device. It can order dominos, tell you the weather and play songs but that's all it does. It's far from a need. The highest volume is still not loud. It's ok to have. Could do with or without.

Alexa is getting smarter every day. I have Smart Things. Works good with my Amazon Echo Dot. Had trouble setting up with Smart Things. Then realized the app has to be in use.

We have been integrating Alexa and amazon into the house. Also added hue lighting system. Pretty awesome to make commands for lighting, music or other from the amazon products

I love this item but wish it could do more- for example, I have two Echos and it would be great to have them sync as speakers - wish they could do IR control. Most of all they need an inbuilt battery for moving the Echo Dot around, even if onky for five minutes.

I got this for my mother-in-law and she absolutely loved it. She uses it to help set reminders throughout the day and control lights and plugs with Alexa.

Picked mine up just after Christmas for $29.99. Works as good or better as stated above then the Echo. Only bad I can say is speaker volume could be better for music.
