the echo dot performs as advertised. the sound is good and the ability to recognize voices is better than expected.

We got this on sale for $29 and it was totally worth the price. At a recent party we stayed up super late just asking alexa to play songs from our youth. So much easier and faster than having to search for it on youtube and the party doesn't lag at all because of ads. it is annoying when she doesn't understand but with practice it gets better. to get full use out of this product you may need to purchase additional items such as amazon music.

Love it. This is my 5th purchase, gave it to all kids as a gift. Great for listening to music and playing fun games

Every day I find more things that Alexa can help me with. I have it connected to 2 smart TP Link outlets now so I can control my TV and space heater from my phone, iPad or my voice if I'm home. I play music, set alarms, set timers, manage my to-do list and appointments and get the up to date detail weather with the Big Sky app.

Bought it mainly for my son yet we are all using it for questions and to play music etc great for the entire family

Wanted to try the Echo, but the price tag kept me away. The Dots price was in line with what I was willing to pay. It hooked up quickly to my Hue and Lightify bulbs and works great turning them off and off with voice control. I have added wemo switches to control Christmas lights and has saved me alot of plugging and unplugging.

Does as intended. Except I wish speaker was a bit better. Besides that, pairs well with all my other amazon devices.

It is difficult to talk about Amazon Dot Alexa without thinking of it as an actual person and that is the reason I will be referring to it mostly as "she/her". The whole family welcomed Alexa as she can not only help in the kitchen with timers and music but even with homework as our younger daughter quickly found out when she asked her to spell out some words. The only issue is that if you need to talk about her, you need to follow our sixteen-year-old daughter's recommendation and refer to her as "that-thing-you-can't-name". Otherwise, she will join the conversation. I'm not kidding. Alexa is always listening and even in a noisy environment with TV and people talking loud, she still can understand you when you mention her name. If you have compatible equipment she can turn lights on/off and do lots of other tricks. Its small speaker is way louder than I expected. Here is one bad experience though. A few days ago, I asked her what her deals were and she said nothing for about 15 seconds, then she asked "do you want to order it?". I quickly said no. She responded: "thank you, your order has been placed". I asked her to cancel but she told me to log on to my account and do it from there which I did for the $99 Lego that I'd never heard about. 10 minutes later, she randomly started listing Amazon deals and asked again if I wanted to order it which prompted the whole family to yell "NO". She again thanked and said she had ordered. I immediately called amazon which said it was a bug and helped me set up a voice order pin to prevent that from happening again. I can only imagine what would have happened if we had left home. However, that was scary but I found no other problem other than the fact that she can't control Amazon's own FireTV. That's why I'm not giving it 5 stars.

Set up is super easy and it basically works right out of the box, if you don't have a smart home it doesn't do much

This works well. I use it in our bathroom. It's nice to get news and weather updates while getting ready for work.

Got this as a gift and wasn't sure it would be for me. However, the sound and operation are excellent. Great gift.

The echo dot is a neat little companion when you want to listed to a game or get an update on info. fun little toy

I love alexa probably more than my Google home. No connection problems and very user friendly. I love this device!
