While its' been fun to have Echo Dot around, and useful in daily requests, it would be nice to have better available apps. When searching some of the categories we are interested in, there wasn't that much available apps with great ratings.

Other than some growing pains I am very happy with my purchase. We put Alexa to work for us all the time and have already purchased a second for the upper level

I have alot of home automation products and alexa works perfect with them. She can turn lights on and change my thermostat. Works awesome. Need one in every room!

I bought this as a gift for my son. He uses it as an alarm clock and to ask about the weather for dressing in the morning along with lots of other uses.

It is hard to describe how much better the quality of sound is on the 3rd generation. So much better!! If you will be listening to music, get the 3rd generation or the Echo.

Best for those with amazon to max out benefit, but you do not have to have it. Plan to get more for other rooms- tells a bedtime story for the kids even - great!

I bought the echo and wanted something smaller for my office at work and this was the perfect size I love it. I also bought 2 more for other locations in my home.

Alexa is extremely helpful and answers a lot of different questions you pose. I would highly recommend the dot.

I bought two Echo dots one for myself and one for a friend. He hooked it up for me and it works beautifully! I'm still learning the many things it does.

I have the Echo in the family room, the dot is a great accessory for the bedroom. My wife had her doubts, but she likes the echo and dot more than I do.

Alexa is an amazing addtional to our family! We've got it connected to our music, lights, thermostat, etc and it works as advertised. Would recommend for sure.

This is a great way to start with basic alexa tech . She entertains us with her many games and is helpful with the many other enabled skills

I wasn’t sure how I would like it or how much I would use it. The dot is a great starting point if you’re wanting to try it before purchasing the Echo.

If find the echo dot more responsive then Google Home. I use it to control my thermostat. Wish there was a skill for my Chamberlain garage though.

At first I was concerned if the dot would get loud enough for my needs. It definitely does. It sits in my living room and can hear it great in my kitchen also.
