I have two echo dots and have given multiple to family members as gifts. I use it primarily for voice control of my Lowe's IRIS smart home system. Works wonderfully for controlling lights and thermostat. Learn new commands that the Echo can accept all the time, it's a lot of fun.

Purchased my third dot. Use them around the house to play music add to my shopping list control my thermostat or turn a light on. Helpful assist. Also use it to play local radio stations. As long as your WiFi works this assistant will too. Great price!

A good basic gift to gauge teens interest before you buy a much more expensive version.

Easy to set up and there are many things that you can do with it and new Alexa skills in development all the time. The only real drawback is the sound. The sound is ok, especially for such a small speaker, but I would recommend connecting it to a Bluetooth speaker.

This voice controlled device allows you to play music, control home devices like lights, you can send a text to others, it can be used as a timer,, etc.

I have this in our upstairs and it has great sound and responds just like the large one

I love how my kids can call me through Alexa, sound quality is good, just hate that you can listen to amazon prime in multiple rooms without the service

I already had the show and echo and wanted the dot for the bedroom, as I already had a UE Boom Speaker in there that I could pair the Dot with - which helped me save money in purchasing the Dot instead of the Echo - as I didn't need the screen of the show in the bedroom.

We have 2 google homes but they are quite expensive. We bought this for the bedroom and it works almost just as well in terms of controlling lights and playing songs through amazon. It’s just missing the knowledge of google search but overall great product for the price.
