I have the Echo and just recently purchased the dot. It comes in handy and works with my security system to turn lights on and off. It can play my music and is a good speaker for its size.There's a lot of other things the Dot can do in the Alexa app. Setup is easy.

I didn't believe I would use the echo as much as I have. Our whole family uses it. We use it to ask the temp or set a timer. Primarily we ask it to play music. The little speaker is ok for background music but we connect through Bluetooth to our main speakers. Easy.

They are adding more functions like game buttons. All in all this is a good product. Needs to keep up to date with google home but still good.

I have a few of these placed all over my house. I prefer the Dot over the Echo. It seems to blend in better with it's smaller profile. There are so many possibilities with this thing and I keep finding more uses for it. I stocked up on these when they were on sale.

This thing is great. Easy to setup and use. I have one in every room of the house and use them all the time. Super convenient, and they work great with smart plugs, lights, and my ecobee thermostat. Best purchase I made in while.

I use it daily to open Pandora and to turn on and off my Christmas tree lights.

A great way to play music and remind you of things you might need or want later

I enjoy my Echo Dot. I live being able to tell it to play music through my Sonos. I also like the instant weather and the reminders. Good fun!

The product is great but setup is a bit difficult Especially for non tech folks

This gadget is innovative!! If you connect your online music account with Alexa, you'll never go back to listening to a regular radio station again! I love having an ever changing play list and all you have to do is speak to it! How much easier can it get?

I use it mainly to play music. I hope to hook up to my dish soon. So far great.

If you dont want the Echo this is a great substitute. It does EVERYTHING the echo does, the speaker is not that great but this product is meant to be an addition or bluetooth. I can be 3 room away and it still hears me just fine. Its small, discreet, and very handy.

For the price, it's great. However, compared to the regular Echo, it doesn't stack up at all. The sound quality is considerably lower, and you have to speak up quite a bit louder to get the Echo Dot to hear and understand you - especially if it's already playing music or otherwise in use. I purchased it for use in the bedroom to listen to music, and to use as an alarm clock. It can be quite disturbing to anyone else in the room to hear you yelling "Alexa! Stop!" at 4:45 in the morning, in an attempt to stop the alarm clock from sounding.

I have enjoyed using the Alexa Dot. It's easy to set up and I love the interaction and hands free ability to use when you are busy. I especially enjoy playing music on demand when I don't want to stop and grab my phone. I would highly recommend this product!

Alexa can't do much, yet, but they keep giving it more skills. She's cute and fun to play with, so was worth the small investment. However, she has paired with my computer rather than with the speaker I wanted her to pair with, and her pairing with my lamp leaves much to be desired. Sometimes she will just turn it on or off on her whim, and other times she will say OK but not turn it on or off until I say her name in a threatening way. Still, she is more competent than some staff members I have supervised and she has a lovely voice/attitude.
