I LOVE the Echo Dot! Alexa never fails to give you what you ask for, whether it be something specific, or a recommendation. The Echo Dot was perfect for my family and I because we have multiple Bluetooth speakers around the house that we can connect it to for music or tv or whatever we want. If you do not have a Bluetooth speaker, I suggest looking into purchasing one prior to spending the extra money on getting the bigger Echo. The Dot has the same functionality only the integrated speaker system is not recommended for a serious audiophile. However, if you’re just going to use it to play rain, or thunderstorms to sleep, and speak with Alexa for daily tasks, then you need not upgrade to anything! The Dot is the cheapest of the Echos and it is certainly the most cost efficient and effective.
