This Echo Dot had become a mainstay in my kids rooms. They enjoy asking questions and listening to music.

Works as claimed. The device picks up your voice across a room and has decent sound for a small speaker.

The echo is super helpful for a variety of things. Voice recognition is good and I use it all the time!

Not totally convinced on its applicability yet. But I do like the Dot because of it's compact size and ability to connect to Bluetooth speakers. Got this before the update and took the full size one back. It does have a small speaker on it, but its not much use without connecting a larger speaker to it.

I love the simplicity of the Echo Dot. It was very easy to install, sync, and begin using. I love that I can use voice controls to get results and actions from anywhere in the vicinity of the device.

Got this for free with my Blink security camera promotion. Does the job. Easy to set up with the cameras. Alexa will show you your cameras if you ask her. Speaker is clear and loud.

bought this for my father who is vision impaired and in assisted living. It allows him to listen to books and radiostations over the internet, as well as music. easy to set up with a good wifi connection

We purchased the Alexa for downstairs and got the dot for upstairs. LOVE the dot. This AI is so helpful, tells a joke each day, plays any music we ask, and always has the current weather. Everyone can use one.

This item works really well. We really enjoyed using the Amazon music service with this and it works really well with Hue Lights as well as with Lutron smart products. It is easy to set up smart home commands and has some silly little things kids love as well. I have recently switched from dots to Google Home product because I feel in the long run Google's integration with their services will be far superior to Amazon's. With that said Alexa is much more responsive and easy to activate than the Google Home Mini. My wife and son are made that I switched. But, everyone has their preference. If you are invested in the Amazon ecosystem this is a no brainer and kid's love it.

We love that we bought one for our house. Very useful everyday for finding out the weather for the day or temperature outside. We use it a lot to play music while fixing dinner for the night. Love having it.

I absolutely love having an Alexa I absolutely love having an Alexa dot. I’ve had it for a while now and I use it to listen to music set my alarm turn on and off lights with it’s amazing

This was bought for a gift.The sound is not as good as the Amazon Ehco.But for $30 it is well worth it

My grandmother lives by herself, and having the Echo Dot is a fantastic addition to make her life a bit easier. We did have some trouble setting up the Echo. After you connect the Echo Dot to your WiFi, the installation process hung several times. Once we set the Dot up, it was pretty fun watching her figure out what it can and cannot do. This brings me to the 4-stars instead of 5. I understand that it is not a good idea to have all skills automatically enabled, but trying to explain to my 75-year old grandmother how to open her Alexa app on her tablet, navigate to a skill, and then enable it was not particularly easy. She figured it out, but I do foresee a lot of phone calls in the future. I wish there were a way during the installation process where the Alexa app would ask you how you want to use the Dot. It would then suggest skills to enable. However, it is still a really good product that my grandmother is going to enjoy having around.

Love echo, need one for every room. Going to buy couple more and hook them up to a blue tooth speaker.

This is the second DOT we have purchased for our home and actually take one on the road in our motor home when we travel. $10 off our new DOT didn't hurt things and we are very pleased with our purchase!

While helping our son plan his wedding music we asked Alexa for titles and artists of specific songs. Also ask for weather reports and to play music. Echo has better sound but Dot is small and convenient.

This one is a Beautiful useful gift for very small price, my kids love to use it all the time for wether, alarm, math questions or random question.. Alexa almost never miss to respond :-)

I already had an Echo and a Dot in my house. I wanted another Dot to put in my theater room to work with the Harmony Hub that controls all of my components. Now I can just say "Alexa turn on the TV" and it turns on all of the components and set them to the correct settings to watch TV. I also have Smartthings a home automation system that controls my house so I can say "Alexa turn on the bedroom light" and the light turns on. Of course I also use it for timers, getting weather and news updates, playing music and running many of the skills that they have now. If you want to play music on the Dot you need to connect it to a better speaker by Bluetooth or wire for sound quality. The speaker in the Dot is fine for the voice.
