works wonderful and easy to setup adding devices to it is easy and asking it questions works great. The sound is fine to but bluetooth works great with it or you could use a aux cable and speaker

A cute lil addition with mega functions. Provides an update on weather, news. Set's Alarms. Our Fav. is "Alexa .. What's Up" and we get a quick run down of weather and day's top news. Even sings a song ;)

I love the Dot. I use it in my kitchen and love the hands free navigation. I use it mostly for listening to music through my Bluetooth speaker. Linked with Amazon Music I can play songs that come to my mind by just asking for it. I Also listen to the flash briefings and play a few games like Jeopardy.

WE love our Echo Dots. This is the second one we have purchased and we love the convenience they provide. We have them linked to our Phillips Hue hub and use it to control our lighting. I can turn on and off the light in the laundry room with my arms full of laundry. I can order from Amazon or add to my shopping list just by telling Alexa what I need and how many. I looked between this and the other system put out by a search engine company and since so much of what I have is tied into the Amazon and Apple architecture, this was the perfect answer to what I was looking for. Perfect for listening to music or audio books while I putz around the house. Would I recommend this to a friend...I already have.

Very easy to set up and use. Over time you ask and receive more and more information that had to be looked up on your other device. Plus the sound is good for listening to music - in smaller rooms, though.

Replaced teenagers phones in their rooms so they can play music and set alarms and even call contacts. The only downfall I am still working out is how to link them all in my Alexa app but to their own spotify profile in our family plan so we can all play our own music.

Still trying to figure out things it can do. It has been helpful with common conversions such as currency, weights, distances and the like. It also helpful with movie times and schedules and geographical information. Also love how I can have it play my favorite music stations like iHeart Radio.

I love this thing, sets my alarms and timers, reminders, plays my music i ask for, tells me weather and much more. This is probably the greatest thing i have bought myself in a long time.

Does not put out the sound as the original Echo, but has good sound for being as small as it is with the same functionality as the Echo. You can also have the Dot connect to another blue tooth speaker.

Bought this for my Mother-in-Law that just returned home from hip surgery, incase she needs to call for help. Only one major issue, she has a Windows phone & doesn’t have the Alexa App, so had to use a Web Browser. That was a pain & still can’t sync phone contacts. If you have an iPhone, works like butter.

The price was so good on this, I had to try it out. Amazon is really good at adding updates and fixing this product. At first, I was very limited on what the device would do, but with updates, I can now get it to work with my Dish, and I couldn't do that before. It's fun to ask questions, and I use it every morning for the weather. The speaker is not super loud. It's nice for just listening to music in one large room, but if you really want to rock out, this will not have you 'Living on the Edge (80s reference...sorry...I'm old).' Response it pretty good. It is annoying when Alexa commercials come on TV, as she tries to respond to those, but luckily I don't have her set up to make purchases, so so far I haven't had weird orders arrive in the mail. Sometimes it takes a few tries for her to respond correctly (like when you ask her to turn off an alarm, or play a certain song), but overall I'm really happy with the device for basic info. and turning my lights on and off.

Love to use this device to set timers and play music while I cook. It even helps with measurements.

The item is great, easy to use. But wish you can speak to it rather than saying Alexa all the time.

For less than $30 this mini echo was about the same price as an alarm clock. Great for the bedside.

I received this as a free add-on item when I bought another product. I had been intrigued by home assistants, but never found myself compelled to buy one. After using the echo dot, I can say that it can be more useful than expected. Sure, you can always search for things on your own, but it's a great feeling when you're rushing in the morning and can simply ask about news and weather. As an intro to the market, it's a cool product.

I really like the Amazon Echo and now with the Dot it’s another addition to our home. We have it in our room and use the alarm, weather and the Daily news which is a great feature to wake up to.

My son and daughter-in-law gave me a Dot for Christmas. Although they enthusiastically told me everything it could do, it sat there for several days because it just seemed like a glorified music player to me. I started researching and found so many fun things to do, that I now have two. I paired it with several Philips Hue (and other) light bulbs, some bluetooth speakers and my Amazon Fire TV (plus some other things), and I have an automated house. I can make a to-do or grocery list from the couch (lazy, I know), and play any kind of music I can think of just by asking. Alexa will tell me the weather, current news, sports scores, dim my lights, change the colors (mood lighting), and bunch of other things. Believe me, it's the best thing you didn't know you needed. Why is it only a 4 star? Because, like Siri or other automated intelligences, Alexa is not always accurate and you need to talk her language. When I got the hang of it, Alexa responds well about 90% of the time. I'm looking forward to upgrades and improvements.

Was hesitant to buy when priced at $50. However, once it went on sale for $29.99, I snatched one up for my dad as a gift. Super easy to set up and connect. He only has two smart lights and a smart thermostat, but in 10-15 minutes, we were set up and asking Alexa everything! Just bought one for myself too!
