I love my echo dot. It was easy to set up and integrate with a variety of smart home devices. I wish it does a better job of answering factual questions and it was easier to find skills I may want to activate using the alexa app. Other than that I'm happy with it.

Works well for alarms and reminders. I like the nighlty news updates and weather.

Makes a great priced gift when drawing a blank for gift ideas.Bought the Echo Dot for our niece for Christmas, three months later she is still enjoying it with moderate daily use.

I have an echo in each room. So easy to connect with everyone without shouting. Alexa needs updating with a few things though

What can you say? It's the echo dot. It does what it says. No complaints from me.

Purchased Alexa to control entertainment devices. It doesn’t work well with some issues such as being able to sync with my iPhone to allow me to call contacts with voice commands. It is supposed to work but I was unable to get it to work. Also I use Alexa in conjunction with Logitech Harmony hubs. I can get some things to work such as “Turn on the TV” but can not get “watch movie” to work.

Love controlling my lights, comfort and occasionally my music with voice control.

The size and shape are perfect for many locations. The uses of Alexa are endless and easily used by young and old. Accessories available to enhance the sound.

Bought the Echo Dot when it was on sale a while back, everything works as expected and the voice recognition is surprisingly good. Speaker volume and quality leaves something to be desired but for a tiny speaker it does well (and can be connected via Bluetooth or 3.55mm aux cable to a better sound system). The only downside to buying and owning one of these assistants is finding ways to use it naturally in your life. Too many times I've found myself remembering I own the Echo Dot, thinking to myself "Oh yeah..." and then asking "Echo, what's the forecast for tomorrow?" just to put it to some use. TL;DR If you find yourself with full hands and without the ability to find the information elsewhere often in your home, you can probably justify this purchase. If not you'll be fabricating uses for it more often than instinctively shouting questions into the ether and awaiting a reply.

Everyone knows what these are by now but best buy asked to review. This is our first one and plan on getting 3 more. Our play room is in the basement and kids can't hear us screaming to come eat so we need to put one in the basement since you can use them as intercoms. I got it for the future intention on controlling a sprinkler system and home lights. I asked Alexa to play 'fado' and it played it, then I was more specific and said 'play Amália Rodríguez' and it started playing one of her songs! No one in the world listens to this stuff except old português folks and Alexa found it on its Amazon library!

I wanted a smaller version of the Echo which I already have downstairs and this is perfect for my needs. Love listening to music or getting the weather before heading out the door.

Excellent complement to the "wired" or smart home. Great with connecting to other smart devices. Good sound. Sometimes it does not know the answer to a question however.

Perfect for any room. Had a nice sound and I liked having Alexa for such a cheap price too. Gave a couple away for Christmas presents and they were the best thing ever.

My echo dot is working great! Connects with everything very well. Does take a little bit of learning and training of things to work but worth the effort. I am actually listening to Amazon Prime music from echo on my tv’s soundbar as I type this. Would definitely recommend.

Love that it connects with my main Echo as well as the other smaller versions. Able to ask questions, control my smart home devices, play music, and just have fun with the little easter eggs Alexa offers. Only complaint is sound quality isn't as good as the bigger Echo.

i have a couple of these around the house. a nice speaker for the size. if you are looking for great sound you should look into the larger versions available but if you just need a small speaker this one works fine. not to mention Alexa always available

I purchased 5 of these for my older grand children and they loved them. They listen to music and also use this for an alarm!
