I love using the Dot to turn the bedside lamps on from the door instead of flipping on the overhead light, walking across the room to turn the lamp on then walking back to the door to turn off the overhead light then going back across the room to get in bed. It’s also great having the weather and traffic read to me while I get dressed. We plan to get another Dot or 2 for the first floor of the house since we enjoy this one so much.

We have a Echo in our living room and it works nicely. I wanted the same functions in our bedroom without the bulky speaker. The dot is the way to go. I can control my Smartthing automation from my dot now too. Nice to lay in bed and be able to turn off lights we forgot to get before climbing in bed.

To attempt to explain how great this product is in this small box is an impossible task. From the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep Alexa is with me helping me, doing anything I ask of her, and making my whole family laugh. Voice recognition and her voice clarity are flawless. My personal favorite is when she tells me what happened this day in history. Buy this and thank me later! Do not hesitate, you will not regret it!

I actually purchased one of these for my in-laws then came back and bought myself one. The set up is very easy and frustration free. The product itself is very nice to have around. If I want to know any number of things I just ask it and it usually has the answer I'm looking for. The devices artificial intelligence is still developing so you must be patient with it sometimes. Overall this is a great product for the money I spent.

I am really enjoying Alexa. I purchased a NEST home thermostat and a few wifi enabled outlets to work with Alexa and so far I am happy with my experience. Setting up the Echo Dot and connecting other wifi enabled items went pretty smooth. Just remember to use the skills to make the Dot work together. I'm looking forward to adding more to my smart house. And if the government is listening...more power to ya I go nothing to hide. :)

Overall, I'm very pleased with my Amazon Echo Dot. I bought one sort of as a toy as I was intrigued after seeing the commercials. I use it primarily for playing music (either Pandora or Amazon Prime Music), checking the weather, and for controlling Wemo mini switches in my apartment. I bought a second one after learning that the Echo Dot can pair via Bluetooth with my laptop and relay the audio to the connected stereo in my home office (I don't believe they advertise this function, but it works well and connects automatically when I wake my computer). There is definitely evidence that the Alexa technology is still in the development phase. She will always hear the wake work, but sometimes she won't catch the command or won't be able to determine what you're asking from the command. However, the required Alexa app logs every request and you can give feedback to help increase reliability. In terms of speaker quality and volume, I was surprised by the powerful sound for such a small device. Now, its not meant to be a stereo, but if you're wanting background music while working in the office or cooking in the kitchen, then it gets the job done. There is a good range of frequencies and the bass is surprisingly profound (we're not talking subwoofer, but it sounds balanced). Overall, this is a genius piece of tech that just needs some time and user feedback to increase its abilities. I love the ease of use and simple set up. As a side note, the Echo Dot goes crazy when the Alexa commercials come on TV, which is quite comical ;-)

This is one of the best products I have purchased from Best Buy. I don’t consider myself to be very tech savy when it comes to this type stuff but this was very simple to set up and use. In fact it was so simple we went back a few days later and purchased another one for a different room and connected to a Bluetooth speaker for easy music listening. If you want something that is easy to use and easy to set up this is for you.

It's easy to set up and voice control. Nice to be able to control lights and connect to YouTube.

I was skeptical about the Alexa devices, but after I purchased a Tap, I knew I had to purchase an echo for my living room. I am an apple fan, but I don't care for Siri. Alexa is leaps ahead of Siri in terms of speech recognition and in speed of communication with other smart devices. I have the dot hooked up to my home theatre receiver and it works as promised! I will be purchasing other Alexa enabled devices in the future.

I have three Alexa dots in different area of my house. Not only is she fun, telling jokes, stories to my kids, plays music either from Amazon Music or Bluetooth your phone and use her as a speaker. Her abilities seem endless and Amazon is fast to add new skills. The notification green ring lets me know what package is arriving and when from Amazon, so I don’t have to sift through emails. Technology that I use daily with joy.

I usually spend a lot of time in my kitchen prepping dinner for the kids, while I do that I tend to open up YouTube and catch the NFL Highlights for the week (games that I miss), the way my house is configured, I can only watch the highlights while I cut the veggies on the counter, but when I move to the stove, I miss everything. My hands are full, I can't sit there and stop what I'm doing to pause the video... But with Alexa, all i have to do is ask it to stop the video. Pause. Rewind. Read stats about the game via the internet - anything I need, I get. Help with a recipe? Done. Text a friend of mine? Done. Need to figure out a time when the game is going to start? Done. It's seriously like having a best friend with mostly all the knowledge in the world waiting for you. It's awesome. I got the Fire Stick and making both of the devices work is 10/10. I enjoy Amazon's little gadgets, and so do my kids.

I have several Echo Dots of my own, but this particular one was purchased for an elderly relative. Using the Echo Dot and a 'skill' called Ask My Buddy, he can notify me he needs help even if he doesn't have his phone handy. There are many other ways to use the Dot (timers, reminders, shopping lists, music, news & weather, etc), but that little extra way of requesting help is what put it over the top for my older loved one.

I purchased this not knowing exactly what I would do with it. Since then I've returned and purchased one for every room. No need to walk around in the dark trying to find a light. Just tell it to turn the light on in the room you are going into and off where you've been. Works great as an alarm and a weather updater without waiting for the news. I love this and so many new ideas coming out every day for it's use.

Bought 3 of these for my 3 nephews as presents. I have the Amazon echo. The dot is great too the only thing is I feel the volume isn't high enough. Great product.

I was under the impression that the Echo Dot didn't have a speaker when I purchased it as the Echo with the speaker was considerably more. It has a speaker, and while I haven't tried using this one for music, I have used it for ambient noise to help fall asleep and it works very well. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone who would like to start a smart home system and already has speakers.

This is my third one and I'll be buying more. I use this all the time for music or turning on lights when my hands are full. The size is perfect and fits anywhere.

We already had an Echo, but got the dot for our vacation home. Love it. I especially like the Lists. It's easy for everyone to add items to the shopping list throughout the week and I can then access it from my phone. The Bluetooth function allows us to easily link to our sound bar for playing music. We've purchased compatible light bulbs, but Haven't had a chance to hook them up yet. We just bought 3 more dots as gifts.

Sounds decent and does everything the larger echo does, for less money. Great for the bedroom.

What can you say - it's a mini-me of the Alexa. We have a full size Alexa and this little jewel was thrown in as a bonus when I bought a Logitech Harmony Hub. So, this was relegated to the bedroom where it sits and plays sounds of rain and thunderstorms to lull my wife and I off to sleep. The speaker quality and volume are not anything to get excited about. This little one is only for getting information about the weather and some news. Will never be suitable for playing music for enjoyment. It does well for what it is. Be aware of what you are buying and set your expectations accordingly.
