This is a nice little assistant. Works well with Amazon content like playing music; and can answer most any question. I wish it could control other Amazon products like the fire stick and fire TV. That would make this an unbeatable product. Add that feature with an update or on the Echo Dot 2 and it will be the best overall setup for this type of device in my opinion... Overall this is a great device for the price.

I bought this yesterday and I couldn’t stop playing with it, it has games you can text off it it has music and everything I would expect from this kind of product.

It works great the voice recognition works very well even with loud music playing Bluetooth pairing is easy and straight forward. The only negative thing I would say is that you need amazon music to play songs and it costs money but it's work $4 a month to say a songs title and then hear it and there has been some songs I wanted to hear but they weren't available but I'm guessing it is due to licensing issues

Alexa is awesome, so far have linked my door, my stereo, lights, apple TV, Christmas Tree. Bought 3 more for whole house and the smart power bars/strips are great!

Purchased one for my wife and one for my father for $40 each. At that price point I'd say it is worth a try. We use it for getting quick answers to questions (i.e. what is the weather for today? give me a news briefing), playing music, and we found it can read kindle books out loud freeing you up to work on another task like folding laundry. There are new skills being added to the Amazon cloud for echo to use weekly and we are hoping that some really useful features show up eventually. One more thing, there is a "play a f@rt" skill.....Finally, a good use for our advanced technology!

this a great piece of tech, its a real win because it gets out of your way unlike a tablet, phone or computer screen. Think of it as almost like a radio computer. Of course its functionality is limited right now, a kin to the iphone when it first arrived, but this has huge potential. The ability to look up, retrieve and get information all by voice is fantastic.The ability to be a controller for household devices is of course very nice too (not for me but others will love it). Priced between 40 and 50 dollars this is a great piece of tech wizardry and a brilliant stroke from Amazon.

I love my Echo Dot! I can listen to my favorite radio stations on iheart radio, check my calendar and even leave messages for friends with other Echo devices. There is even a whole segment of games and fun family activities my kids love. The only reason I don't give it 5 starts is I wish it could be run cordless as an option and I wish the Dot volume could increase more than it does. It works for smaller areas - mine is in the bathroom and on the kitchen counter (I move it a lot) when I am cooking. I bought one to see how much I liked it - I will be getting more. :)

The Echo Dot is a great tool to set multiple alarms, timers for cooking, getting the weather and listening to radio programs and stations all over the US. Setup is fairly easy, did on our Amazon acct. It looses internet connection sometimes but gains it back quickly and is probably more because our house is old with thick plaster walls & it is 1 story removed from the router. Voice recognition is very good!

My 5 year old son loves it, and its great to see him interact with Alexa. I enjoy seeing him asking her a million questions. it’s the future I highly recommend it.

I would recommend it works great it basically tells you everything you want to know far as whether GPS your commute to work and your lifestyle the daily activities

The Echo Dot is a great device if you want to have Alexa and want to control your smart home devices. It is also great how you can stream music using the echo dot.

Provides easy access to information and is fun to use. Good size compared to larger options.

The dot is the cheapest way to have access to Alexa. The dot doesn't have a good external speaker but has an auxiliary 3.5 jack and bluetooth cable.

I LOVE this Amazon Dot! It's very small and completely discrete. Sits great next to my nightstand. I use it to turn off the lights at night for the entire house if I forgot to turn it off downstairs. Use it with the Phillip Hue lights and Lutron light switch dimmer. I wish the Dot has the volume control like the Amazon Echo does. The speaker is not the best one out there so don't expect to get this and have a party going. Ideally, it would be great next to your nightstand or in the kid's room for them to use the Hue lights or any automated light system.

I love these little dots. Low profile, great sound. Perfect for small rooms

This is an excellent device. I use it when I travel. Great sound. Easy to set up. Convenient to carry. Only wished it would have a battery to charge when on the go.

Bought this as a gift for parents and they love! Very easy set up and voice recognition.

I installed this in my computer room and can talk to my wife clear across the house without getting up or yelling. Plus you get everything else that Alexa offers.

This is absolutely a must have item, or several of them, for any smart home. Works great with so many products. (Harmony hub, TP-Link smart plugs, Sonos speakers)
