The whole family loves Alexa. She plays music with Bluetooth to the Bose speakers or by itself. It answers most of my questions. I can't wait to hook up my Ecobee.

Bought this as a toy really, but it actually does have some useful features. The list function works quite well. Instead of writing out a shopping list just talk to it during the week then take your phone to the store and check off things as you go. Reminders and weather work well also. Another plus is the price. I certainty would not pay the 300 plus dollars Apple wants for a similar device.

Sounds great. Able to control our lights also. Love it.

I initially wanted this because I thought it would be fun to play with. However, on top of being fun, it has been useful, and has opened up a world of productivity for me and my family. It has great voice recognition, even from across the room, and understands well. Our mistake was putting it right next to our sound bar. That makes it hard to give commands when there is sound coming out of the sound bar already.

I purchased this for myself and family after reading a few reviews. Could not decide between the echo dot the echo. I was told that you need blue tooth speakers but you don't, the dot has speakers that work just fine. It plays music, adjust the temperature of my thermostats, looms up "some info" as it does have its limits on what it can and can't search for. You have to be very specific when asking a question and it does not allow for a follow, you have to wake it up again to ask a follow up question. It is only the second generation so hopefully it wI'll get better with time.

After watching my friends use Alexa, I gave it a try with an Echo dot and so far I have been amazed by it's voice recognition and things that you can do with it.

Our Amazon Echo is in the kitchen, but the Echo Dot is in our bedroom. Now instead of using my cellphone (which I don't want in my bedroom anyway), I use the Echo Dot as my alarm clock, music sleep timer, and to ask the time after I've snoozed a few too many times, all without looking at the glare on the screen, even if it is in Night Shade mode. It lets me stay sleepy until I really need to wake up.

This device is super smart. Very responsive and fast to provide any answer you need. Love when I ask a crazy question and the response is "I don't know that." Lol

The dot is small and hooks up to my receiver easily to gain sound on my surround system.

Don't think this little Echo Dot can't do everything the normal Echo Can....because it does. Easily automates my WINK hub with lights. My Quirky Power strip. Changes the Colors of my LIFX bulbs and helps me order items from Amazon. Plays music well, not much bass, but hook a bluetooth speaker to the DOT and you have a great sound hub as well. Perfect for anyone who doesn't want the big Echo but still wants Alexa.

Mostly use for music, has great sound. Not as loud as the others, but still great.

I bought one for myself and one for my sister for her birthday, because I got an email from Best Buy and I saw the price was so great. I love it. I haven't had a stereo for quite some time and this is such a great find! I feel like I have a new friend - I say "Alexa, Good Morning!" and she replies, "Good Morning" and then tells me a note of trivia for that day. It's so fun! I feel like a little kid!

This echo dot does allot for your money, have had it for a while now and cant live without it, no problems! I use it to turn lights on and off and to play music

The Echo dot is very handy in practically every room of the house, especially if you have wifi enabled devices that you wish to control with Alexa. We use wifi light switches, string lights and an outdoor/indoor extension plug and they all work amazing with the echo dot. Fun gadget too...games, jokes, random facts, NPR...if you can think of it they either have a skill for it or they will soon.

I have several of these around the house in bedrooms, kitchen, office and use them daily. In bedrooms, they make a great alarm clock. In the kitchen, they are useful to convert recipes from grams to ounces, check on the news, listen to music. In the office, they play music, let me chec k in on the markets and get the latest news. I bought six of them this holiday for gifts!
