Amazing for the price. Mine plays my music, turns lights on, and adjusts my Nest thermostat all by voice. Wish it did a little better with research.

We are very happy with our Amazon Dot. We've been a long time Echo user and started with generation one. Echo is a great product. If we only used it to create our shopping list, it would be enough, but it also controls our lights, shows us our security cameras, tells us the weather forecast. The list goes on and on and Echo keeps getting smarter.

I bought this because I have a rather large living room, and found myself shouting at my echo. Now I have one on each side of the room, problem solved!

Great product for the price. You can listen to music if you have amazon prime.

This is interesting. Easy to set up, the voice recognition work flawlessly. Last week, Alexa interacted with two houseguests. One has a thick southern accent, the other speaks English with a very pronounced Syrian accent. No problems at all. Echo Dot isn’t for music, you need either a big Echo or speakers for that. But the usefulness of the Dot is endless. Highly recommended.

Picked up 3 echo dot to go with my original echo to work as an intercom system in my house. works great plus added benefits of multiroom music ect ect.

This is the 3rd Dot in our home (and we have the Alexa tower as well). We have them placed all over the house. Love being able to play music, or add things to my shopping or To Do lists from any room as I think of them, as well as access those lists from my phone when I am out and about running errands! We use Alexa for many other things, but those are our favorite and most used :)

i'm in the amazon ecosystem cult... so a dot for the bedroom is about perfect, definitely not the sound quality as the echo, but fine for bedroom duties

I Use it to control the volume on my Sonos, add to my to do list, add to my grocery list, and I asked the weather. While I only use it for basic functions, it has been invaluable, as my husband now adds to the grocery list himself.

I bought the Echo as a gift for a family member, then ended up buying two Echo Dots for myself. We have them strategically placed in two different locations and control lights throughout our home (Philips Hue). Easy setup, and learning devices is simple. Once you have this feature, you wish everywhere you went had it! Dot is great for fact finding, grocery lists, and overall entertainment.

like the small size that can fix virtually un noticed but still functional

Works as it should, the speaker difference between this and the actual echo is quite noticable, but for the price difference you really cant beat it :)

Alexa may not know everything, but she sure knows a lot! The Echo works wonderfully with Hue lighting. It's like an up-to-date clapper!!! You get in bed and say "Alexa, turn off bedroom lights" and no more tripping over your nightstands or pets trying to get in to bed! I also love the jeopardy and ask questions of the day! The ease of using Pandora and Amazon Music is so easy as well!

I own several Dots, Shows, Echos, and Echo Plus units. Deciding which is the right one to get just depends on where and how you want to use them. At my house, these Dots are used mostly in bathrooms, the laundry room and one I put in a portable unit (Bongo) which lets me take it outside, untethered by a power cord.

it's fun but I'm still learning. Definitely great to listen to music or radio stations good for timers and lists. Good price for what it does

Once you get used to her you will not want to give her up. She answers most questions and integrates amazingly with Phillips Hue and Logitech Harmony.

The Echo Dot is a more compact version of the original Echo; about the size of a hockey puck. It can be placed anywhere there's a power outlet... there's even a wall mount available for it. It's great for playing music, controlling smart devices within your home, ordering from Amazon, and now as an intercom within your home if you have multiple Echo devices. Set up is easy and takes less than 5 minutes. It requires a device with the Alexa app installed. I only gave it 4 stars because the voice recognition still needs some work.

We all know how to Google. This makes it really fun! Plus you can add skills to Alexa and do anything from control household appliances, exercise, zen chills, make phone calls (when linked to your smartphone) and talk to people in other rooms of your house where you've placed additional units. We've purchased two additional Echo's and will probably end up buying more!!!
