I currently had the Echo and decided to get another device for our bedroom. I wish I had purchased this first, the voice recognition is much better and with an attached bluetooth speaker it's wonderful. Being able to control our connected devices especially the lights is great. No more having to get up to flick a switch. Alexa is always improving and there are a ton of skills.

I haven't realized all that this item can do, buy it is impressive. So far we use it for music, wake up services, reminders, grocery lists, and lately, for turning smart light bulbs on an off. This can also be done away from home using the app. I guess there are more possibilities. The app makes initial setup fairly at least for the 70 year old.

Love the echos, this one is no different. Obviously sound isn't great but that's why these are so cheap. Use in rooms where you wont need music.

I like the echo dot, works great in regards to giving you weather, news and works fine giving you access to your music! In regards to Bluetooth connectivity, that is a hit or miss process, sometimes it connects sometime not.

We have the Echo downstairs, but wanted to be able to control things while upstairs as well. This works great for that. In addition, the sound is really big for such a little item. I use it to play music while outside on the balcony, sleep sounds at night, and as an alarm clock. It works so well as an alarm clock that I'm thinking of getting rid of the big one on my nightstand.

The Amazon Dot is absolutely amazing! Such a cheap price to pay for all this little guy can do! From general questions, quick link to music and audiobooks, checking weather and traffic before you head out, ordering products from Amazon by voice(tons of exclusive deals),and smart home capabilities... this is the one thing you didn't know you couldn't live without till you have it!

Bought as a gift for the in-laws last year for Christmas. They absolutely love it. The compact size is perfect as it does not require much space. It is very affordable and works as it should. The only downside is the sound quality is not the best, but I don’t believe that it is meant to be. It can be paired to a speaker to improve the sound anyway.

I purchased this Echo Dot for a friend for helping me during a family illness. I'm sure she will find her Dot to be as helpful to her as mine are to me. My Echo Dots with Alexa are now very much an integral part of my day. When I get up in the morning I say "Alexa, Living Room On" and the lights go on in the living room. I walk in and sit down and say "Alexa, my Flash Briefing please". I then listen to the news and get the latest weather forecast for the day. Then I say "Alexa, what's on my schedule today?" and she tells me whatever I have scheduled in my Google Calendar". As I prepare a meal and notice I'm getting low on coffee I say "Alexa, add Coffee to my Shopping List" and she tells me she has added coffee to my shopping list. I drive to the grocery store and open the Alexa app on my iPhone select shopping list from the menu and load my cart. At noon while I am preparing lunch, Alexa sounds a tone to remind me to set out my noon medication. In the evening, I take a warm bath to relax and tell Alexa to play "Mary's Soundtracks" and listen to my favorite movie music while I'm soaking. Then when I'm ready for bed I say "Alexa, Living Room Off" and Alexa turns off the living room lights. I'm sure I'll find other useful applications, too, as more "skills" are developed by Amazon and third parties as well. I have a feeling this is just the beginning!

I got it as a Christmas present for my husband and I am expecting it to be as good as I have seen it on television. I can hardly wait to use it!

Great price on the DOT and was in stock. Very simple to synch with Alexa.

I literally use my echo dot for everything. I’m so glad I bought this product. I haven’t had any issues with it so far. However, I do wish that they would update the echo and echo dot so that it is cordless and can be moved around without haveing to buy a charging dock. Other than that I believe anyone who buys this product will be 100% satisfied with it.
