The echo dot is a great addition to a new room that you need to control home automation, ask questions and play music.

I really love this speaker...since day one that I received it, I have been using it for everything...I ask anything or order it to do anything I can think of...like access to the web, listen music, turn on to watch or a movie...the "Amazon - Echo Dot (2nd generation) - Smart Speaker with Alexa" is 100% recommend by me...

I purchased this Echo Dot for a friend for helping me during a family illness. I'm sure she will find her Dot to be as helpful to her as mine are to me. My Echo Dots with Alexa are now very much an integral part of my day. When I get up in the morning I say "Alexa, Living Room On" and the lights go on in the living room. I walk in and sit down and say "Alexa, my Flash Briefing please". I then listen to the news and get the latest weather forecast for the day. Then I say "Alexa, what's on my schedule today?" and she tells me whatever I have scheduled in my Google Calendar". As I prepare a meal and notice I'm getting low on coffee I say "Alexa, add Coffee to my Shopping List" and she tells me she has added coffee to my shopping list. I drive to the grocery store and open the Alexa app on my iPhone select shopping list from the menu and load my cart. At noon while I am preparing lunch, Alexa sounds a tone to remind me to set out my noon medication. In the evening, I take a warm bath to relax and tell Alexa to play "Mary's Soundtracks" and listen to my favorite movie music while I'm soaking. Then when I'm ready for bed I say "Alexa, Living Room Off" and Alexa turns off the living room lights. I'm sure I'll find other useful applications, too, as more "skills" are developed by Amazon and third parties as well. I have a feeling this is just the beginning!

Great price on the DOT and was in stock. Very simple to synch with Alexa.

It's a good device, still learning all about it. AI is still bit slow learning and not comprehending everything you say to "Alexa", there's a lot left unanswered and no responses to numerous questions. but I guess it's ok.

It’s Echo Dot, what else can you say. This is my 2nd Dot, plus I have Alexa. All 3 can control my Smart Things Hub and share my Pandora account.

We really like it. The Sounds is great. Easy to install.

Alexa is by far the leading AI and will continue that way. The Dot is all you need as it Bluetooth to your larger speaker. We have a full size Alexa and while nice save the $120 and get a bigger and better portable Bluetooth speaker instead. The Dot is awesome and all you need. I bought at Best Buy for same as Amazon but with reward points and same day pick up= no brainer.

This is awesome to have around the house. I use it for music & just about anything else I can think to ask it. I would recommend this to anyone

Purchased as a Black Friday gift for our Dish Hopper system, commands work great with no remote to search, play recordings and change channels.

Easy to set up and comes in very handy to find out weather anywhere. Plays music and can pause your TV programming verbally.

I got this on sale before Christmas and have connected it to my thermostat, hue bulbs, and my tplink remote switch. You can do a lot with it as with the echo but for a lower price. One of the main things I do is ask Alexa to tell me the time if I wake up from sleeping and cant see the clock. So many features for this that I can't even name because I haven't had time to try out.

I have a few smart devices and Echo Supports pretty much anything.. Sonos, wifi plugs, smart lights ..good collection of songs on Amazon helps.

Very Briefly, if you have Amazon prime this is a nifty little device. Its is easy to set up, simple to use, and keeps getting better. We use it for the basics, but I can see it getting more use as the features get better. Music is the main use, better than messing with my phone and HT, just pair this with any BT or HT system and off you go. Wait for a sale, you can save 25-50%.

I hate to admit it because I didn't want this thing listening to everything that was said in the house. Black helicopters and all that stuff. but after buying the bigger one and discovering everything she can do.. i had to get the Dot for the bedroom. I figured if Jeff Bezos wants to listen to me snore, he's welcome. Absolutely love it!
