This is an awesome device. Hook it up to your play list and you're good to go. I mainly bought it as a music player but it does so much more!

Inexpensive way to start the transition to a smart home. You can't do much with this alone, but it opens the way for lots of other devices.

This is our second Dot, and we also have the Echo. We also have the speakers for the dots and great how you can connect them to play music.

My kids love them...listen to music & set alarms with their voice.

I mainly use it for playing music. the sound is pretty loud and if I want it any louder i can easily pair it with a Bluetooth speaker.

I purchased this Echo as a gift for my Son for Xmas because it was highly recommended by family and friends. They all gave it good ratings.

Bought this January 2018. Use it about daily. Changed name to echo, don't have the peoblem with shows on TV talking to it that way. 4yr old daughter after ask echo what time it is. Been great and will continue to use it, but soon moving out of living room. Got the new Gen 3 echo dot and now this went from good to ok since the new echo dot is soo much better. Good if you are going to connect external speaker. If not connecting speaker get the new echo dot, louder and clearer!

This is helpful to me daily. It is the best alarm clock ever. I️ love checking the news and weather before I even open my eyes each morning.

I love this thing I nearly have my entire lighting system automated and it's great that Alex a can turn everything on and off with my voice

My Alexa is funny, a great personality! She has been helpful in many ways & I have connected her to a smart plug to increase what she can do.

It is easy to use. The sound is awesome. Quality is ok

I have one Alexa and two first gen Dots. Each of the Dots are using "Echo" as their wake-up word and at opposite ends of the house, no prob.

Couldn’t drive home after work during an intense snowstorm, so I stayed locally with friends. Having a great time talking about lots of things while making a pizza. I was blown away when she asked Alexa to time the pizza in the oven. Seriously? Then, she asked me what music I wanted to hear and Alexa would play it. That worked successfully. I bought my first Echo Dot quickly thereafter and a second Dot shortly after that. It’s been fun and worth the nominal cost!

The echo dot blends in to our home effortlessly. It is extremely responsive and understands all the members of our family. A great product.

I received the first Echo Dot as a present and liked it so much I bought 2 more to place throughout the house' I like a wide variety of music so I use it mainly to steam music. I have 2 connected to large stereo systems and one just using the internal speaker (which is pretty good). The microphone is sensitive. The only drawback is the depth of answers it gives. It only responds with brief comments so you have to keep questioning to get more details about a subject. I have not tried home automation...that will be next.

Great speakers for songs small and compact would recommend it to a friend

I now have several of these throughout my home and look forward to using Christmas presents to extend "smart" home lighting in other rooms.

I use two of these in conjunction with Philips Hue lights, an Ecobee 4, and a couple of Bose Soundlink products and really happy with the results so far!! I continue to add more IOT products to the ecosystem because the functionality is superb! Plus I have saved more than enough to compensate for the cost of the Echo Dot in Amazon Prime voice order savings alone!

Cheapest and most effective way to experience Alexa. Got it on sale for $35 and it's worth every penny I paid for it. I mainly use it to control some of my smart switches as well as play music/radio and tell me the weather. Keep your expectations in check and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I also was able to figure out how to get Google search on there as well!
