I got this as a gift for my mother as an addition to the Echo Plus. I have it in her bedroom so she can listen to her favorite music easily, have a book read to her or check out the temperature, time, or do trivia questions. It also can turn on/off the lights for her. It is a terrific little device, just as good as the larger models. Sound is fantastic!

I had one Echo in my living room area and found I was shouting and most often Alexa could not understand what I was saying. With this second dot it's great as I go to sleep or wake. Alexa does so many things. I sincerely enjoy the flash news in the morning, jokes, jeopardy and if o can't spell something too Alexa is there helping me. I think everyone should have this...

Very convenient. Placed it in the kitchen. Will play music and set a timer for cooking, give us the temperature outside and weather report. Only problem is one of the Pandora stations. It doesn’t understand and plays the wrong station whenever we ask for it. And it seems to have started a new Pandora station on its own. What is nice is that you can ask for a specific artist’s music only. Also you can ask for a specific classical symphony. Plays what you want even if there is no “station” for it.

Alexa, play "Lovesong". Actually, this is one of several Echo Dots that we have. Alexa keeps me up to date on news, weather etc. She turns on the lights, plays sleep sounds, turns off the lights, makes coffee and on and on. This can be a life changing product. If you haven't tried it, you too can enjoy many benefits for a very small price. My suggestion, try it.

Alexa is cool, plain and simple. She knows a lot and is fun to interact with. However at the end of the day Alexa is supposed to be a tool. I have my Echo Dot hooked up to 4 Philips Hue lights and 1 smart plug. Alexa controls them all pretty well as long as you carefully set everything up. The Alexa ecosystem can still use a lot of work. Some skills are still quite glitchy and integration with other devices like Philips Hue and apps like Yonomi can be spotty. This will all hopefully be improved over time in software.

I picked up 3 of these for my Mom's house. She was having a problem with where her light switches are. When it was time to go to bed and she turned off lights in the front part of the house, it was too dark for her to comfortably walk to the bedroom. Now she leaves the lights on until she gets in bed and then just tells Alexa to Turn off the lights! Problem solved!

Affordable and fun. My only complaint is that it has to remain plugged in. Other than that, it is convenient and easy to use.

I purchased this Echo dot after my husband had a serious accident. I also bought a smart plug and paired a lamp to the echo so he could operate the lamp by voice through Alexa since he could not use his arms very well. With the echo he could also communicate with me in another room. I did not have to constantly check on him.

The Dot is great if you like Alexa. I have two of them,one in each bedroom, and they combine perfectly with the Echo in the living room. These Dots are used to control music and lights, and serve as alarm clocks as well. The only downside from a full-fledged Echo is the sound quality, but if you link them to a good Bluetooth speaker...problem solved!

This is great for controlling smart devices. Just wish the speaker was a little more powerful but you can't really beat it for the price.

Great add on to my smart devices. Bought this for my boys Room and like the feature that I can send message from my amazon device to his.

Purchased only for the occasional deals amazon gives to echo owners only. sits unplugged otherwise. Great to order add on items without needing to add on another item.

Great product, speaker is better than expected. The app is easy to use.

My family and I are having so much fun with Alexa. We love to hear the responses and ask questions that may just stump her. Too much fun!

This is my second Echo Dot. I have the google home as well. Both work well. Sometimes the google is better and sometimes Alexa is better.

Can get glitchy and Alexa will repeatedly say; “I’m having trouble understanding, try again later.” I know they will keep improving this, so I will still recommend it.

This little Dot does so many things, I love it! I have it synched with my lights in the kitchen and my thermostat, which works great.

Just as good as their full-size speaker, only cheaper.
