I own the echo show, the spot and a few of these for different rooms. I use these the most. At the end of the day, Alexa is a voice assistant. And the echo dot 2nd gen has 8 microphones. That means it is very good at picking up your voice commands. I would day that picks up my voice better than the echo spot or show.

Purchased 3 of them to place in each bed room. You can use it as a whole home audio system and also use it as an intercom system.

Easy set up and fun to use. It hears from a pretty good distance.

Decided to purchase an Amazon Echo Dot to add a level of ease to the Philips Hue Wireless lighting system. And the Dot can also do a lot more. Adding voice recognition to our house is awesome and makes a lot things easier, including turning the lights on and off. Voice ordering common products through Alexa/Amazon is also a lot of fun, and very simple.

I see great potential with this product. We got it because we have an Amazon Fire box and it works with it. Still figuring it out.

Decided to get one as they were on special offer at under $30. Easy to set up and great for playing music on as well as asking questions. Sound is loud enough if you have it next to you on your desk but not really powerful enough to be listening all around the house - if you want something like that need a wireless or blue tooth speaker

I discovered the Amazon Echo a few months ago and love it. I'm putting together a smart home so I added the dots. Good decision!

I was originally reluctant to buy this kind of voice controlled device because I thought that voice recognition and natural language processing technology are not yet matured. But, I was wrong. It is much more smart than I expected and I love it. Especially, my kids started asking Echo about many things which I should answer before.

We have several Echo devices, and bought the latest one as a stocking stuffer for an older friend who lives out of state. Thank you comment included "nifty little device" and she loves listening to the music. The newer generation si supposed to have better sound, but with cats in the house, we figured the hard surface 2nd generation as a better pick so the cats can't use it as a scratch pad (the 3rd generation unit has material over the speaker).!

If you have a speaker setup at home already you can just get this dot and save yourself $100 over the Echo. The Echo only really offers you better sound. The dot can still be used as a bedroom speaker but the Echo will power a room. However, if you have a bluetooth speaker handy you can pair it with your dot. This is what I've done and it's fantastic.

I actually bought the Echo Dot as a gift, but I was so impressed with the capabilities that I will be buying another for myself.

The echo dot is a smaller version of the larger Alexa. You can do all the same things the normal size one can but it takes up less space. The only thing you sacrifice is the larger speaker but I find the built-in speaker to be good enough. I have one in the bedroom and I've given to await for Christmas. You do not need the larger Alexa for It to work.

If you are living alone, get one of this. You can talk to her and she will not get upset, but sometimes she will not understand.

It is so cool and simply awesome I use everyday new "skills" just keep adding value cant wait to make my home a smart home cant recomend enough. Even if your not doing a smart home the dot can answer questions help find a lost phone with the phone finder skill even if its on vibe or silent cant tell u how awesome that skill is again HIGHLY RECOMEND

Great easy to use small enough to fit anywhere overall great

My son loves talking to Alexa and having her play music and text without touching his phone. Great for those that love to game.

Fun to have and everyone has a great time asking questions and hearing all of the mostly bad jokes. They are the kind of jokes you find on the back of a tube of yogurt. Just so easy to ask what the weather is while you're doing other things and leave a bad song behind instead of listening. Still not hooked up to Sonos yet but well worth the money.

Bought this for when we travel! Alarm, music, weather...

Primarily for shopping lists, music and weather and hope to add outlets later. Good addition to the family for only 50.00.
