I bought this dot to be an extension of my Echo Plus and put in the bedroom. I wound up buying 3 total! I like the fact that I can have music playing through all of them at once and fill my home with sounds! Speaker isn’t that great but it does the job. Easy to connect to another Bluetooth speaker. Range for commands is about 20 feet. Overall, a great purchase and lots of skills (apps).

Easy to use by kids. Handy to take outside. Transportable/ Lightweight and can be used in the dark too. Kids love it and can play all their songs, acts as an alarm, and search engine. Bought two more for family and friends. The whole family is enjoying our new echo!

Initially got the echo for Christmas and didn’t think it was a need, until we hooked it up to a hard to reach lamp. Since then we’ve bought the Echo Dot for our bedroom, as well as several Smart plugs and Smart bulbs for around the house. Having our lamps and even our Christmas tree activated by voice command is such a game changer. Life is so much easier now, especially with our hands full holding baby. We can dim the light with our Smart bulb for night feedings and even change the light to all sorts of colors just for fun. We can play music from Pandora over the Echo, play all sorts of games and even ambient sounds for baby when she sleeps. No need for any other sound machine or gadgets. We don’t know how we ever lived without it. The hubs and I definitely recommend this product. Even bought a couple as gifts.

I love using Alexa as an alarm in the AM , News and Weather Updates , she plays my Hulu shows for me , and she's a great DJ . I would recommend Alexa to any of my friends . I don't even use her to her full potential and she's still an amazing product .

i chose Echo Dot simply because i wanted ambient noise at night to drown out the sound of my heater turning on and off, but the the Dot has been a pleasant surprise. I have music news and weather reports on request, and i can turn on my light without having to cross the room in the dark. Im exploring Skills now, looking for new treasures. I definitely recommend Echo Dot to everyone!

I have both Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices and I far prefer Alexa. The main reasons are two. For music, Alexa delivers better results. My kids asked Google for a Kids Bop song the other day and it played Justin Timberlake. I asked Google to set an alarm every weekday at 6:30 in the morning and it responded that it set an alarm for 6:30 PM every day. Alexa does not have these issues. Alexa always gets alarms right and is far more accurate on the songs that we ask for. The dot is a great unit. It's small and goes anywhere. The speaker is fine for most bedrooms to just have alarms and music. Just connect it to a different speaker if you want better sound. For the price, I would recommend this for simple uses like alarms and music and of course getting weather and adding things to your shopping list.

I have bought Harmony hub with this device and I used to have multiple remotes to operate tv, dvr, ps3, home theater & chrome cast now everything can be controlled with my mobile. I have linked my Harmony to echo dot and now I can change channels with just voice commands. I can even make calls to other echo dot devices. I can do lot more with echo dot you just need to find right skill.

It's amazing how advanced we have become. I'm not sure if I can live without Alexa now. She isn't as smart as I would like her to be but she's learning more everyday. I researched actually after I purchased Alexa and considered a Google home mini but after reading Alexa was the way to go. Only draw back is u have to make sure u really want it bc Best Buy places you on warning if you make what they consider too many returns and can decide if they will allow you to return the product, so do your research 1st or buy from somewhere else.

The Amazon dot is conveniently small and easy to configure using the iPhone app. The speaker is not capable of great sound but does the job.

We love the ease in which Alexa provides us at home, and the ability to sync with other electronics to control the appliances and lighting.

My wife and I love the echo dot! Very easy to set up. Works well with Sonos.

The Amazon echo dot has improve my life a lot. It saves me time by me not have to Google questions my kids ask. It also tells me my schedule for the day when I am in the middle of doing something and don't have time to look. Music is a huge part of my families life and the Dot makes it easy for everyone take turns listening to their style of music by just tell Alexa to play it.

We found Alexa to be so cool that we went out and bought a bluetooth soundbar for our TV. Hooked the soundbar up to our TV via HDMI and Alexa uses it too via bluetooth. So now we can hear Alexa throughout our house. My wife and I love to listen to music via Alexa and the new soundbar, my daughter loves to play Dungeon Adventure, I like having Alexa remind me of my upcoming events. My daughter no longer asks me how to spell a word or ask me for the current time. She helps with homework and will tell me if there is heavy traffic on route to work. This is just a small portion of how Alexa is now a part of our family! I will soon be hooking her up to Vera, our home automation controller so she can controll our lights, thermostat, security system, TV, stereo, and entire home theater system...hopefully Alexa and Vera will get along ;-D Looking forward to new discoveries with Alexa!

Alexa has many interesting facts and is a lot of fun. I bought several Echo items for Christmas but I could not wait so I gave my wife the Echo Dot for our anniversary. This was very easy to setup and the sound quality is good. Alexa hears her name and she awakes to listen for your query. Her response is extremely quick. Ask her to tell you a story and you will be entertained!
