I have an Echo Plus in living room and 2 of these. One in the, man cave and another upstairs in the bedroom. This way I can control the lights and thermostat from just about anywhere in the house. I also have it connected to my home theater system in the MC so using it for music is fantastic and the price is great!

Got the echo for my wife's birthday. She (and I) love it. Very easy to set up on our iPad and iPhone. She wanted to be able to make grocery list. That was the first thing she did. It was easy and fun to do. We use it for all kinds of information and MUSIC. My next thing will be to start connecting it to our house items.

Looked into ideas about smart home and Amazon Echo Dot seems to be the most economic way to get started. I got the Dot and several smart plugs, combining with existing Bluetooth speakers I already have. Now I have an happy smart living room where I can have the lights and fans turn on/off with voice command. Very happy for this.

The Echo Dot is wonderful. I'm a big fan of most of amazon's products and this device hasn't disappointed yet! I also have the amazon echo and really the dot is just as good. The echo has a more powerful build in speaker but the build in speaker on the dot is good quality. You can also connect a larger speaker to the dot if needed.

Easy to convert a regular TV to a smart TV with voice activation and have access to the internet and online networks.

I bought one out of curiosity and realized its potential and have subsequently bought one for each room in the house.

love how small it is and that you can hardly see it. for something so small it has great sound.

this was a gift that was loved by everyone. works great for my elderly dad who can just sit in his recliner and ask out loud whatever it is he wants to know like weather Bears score...how to do whatever...easier than trying to figure out how to use the computer. you won't be sorry you bought this.

I have mostly used the Echo Dot for news, music, weather, timers, controlling my Hue lights, and entertaining my nieces and nephews. They love asking Alexa to play a song. I've only used it once to call another Alexa and it seemed to work very well. As more people get one, it will become a feature that I can see myself using.

This was a birthday gift for my husband from our daughters. They wanted to get him something unique for his birthday.

As an owner of the original Echo, I had an idea of the quality to expect minus the bigger more powerful speaker. The echo dot delivers a similar experience and offers the ability to output to Bluetooth speakers or directly plug in. The price point is great and the voice recognition is on par with the original. Highly recommended.

This device is outstanding value for the money even if you only use it as a point of reference or internet search facility. Pairing it with other home automated devices is I'm sure what the makers intended the user to do and in that respect it performs well. Voice control for home automation at a bargain price. What's not to like?

Made my life easy switching on the light/fan/lamps. Bonus it tells you weather and can place order for you on amazon.

We use Alexa to give us the weather report each morning, play some music (connected to a more powerful bluetooth speaker), get quick answers for homework questions, and every now and then for Alexa to tell us a joke. Some are pretty funny. Have not connected it to any home automation features yet. That is coming.

If this is your first attempt and home automation then make a small investment of $49 and take the Amazon echo for a test drive. I believe you will be amazed at how powerful this little device is. If you are a Amazon prime subscriber the echo is a must it simply makes life easier. It's easy to use and fun for the entire family.

Loving my new Echo Dot. My parents have the large one and I wanted one myself but didn't want to spend the $180. So I went for the little guy at a third of the price. I wish it were a little louder but I think I can plug speakers in it. The only downfall I can see of getting the dot. Otherwise, it works just like the larger one!

I bought several Amazon Echos as gifts for family members and they all loved it! With the Echo, they are able to connect to the internet and get information, music, turn on lights, etc without any trouble at all. This is especially true for my nephews who are more accustomed to electronics and how easy it is to use.

This product is great for rooms where you want voice control but don't necessarily want to pay for the full echo or echo plus models. The sound quality is definitely not the most desirable.
